    If you understand what the word "friend" means, you would know full well no traveller is ever your friend.

    I am guessing only one person benefits from whatever relationship you and this traveller person have.

    You should try relating to people of different cultures Tom wonderful learning in it. Those that elect to be cynical ***** all their life end up screaming and roaring and giving out in old age when they could be enjoying the sunset ... that s the same for all cultures , but I accept we have our bad apples in the settled community also.

    I’m not on Twitter but it seems Erica Fleming layed into Niall Boylan, his response is a good one!!!

    Neither am I but this seems to be it

    Why the hell is that Boylan fella on #TonightTV3 #tonightVMT I’m gonna fast forward this part coz he’s vile! I actually think his attitude is scary!

    Erica Fleming (@EricaHome1)

    @vincntbrowne this is why we need you back on the show, when the likes of Mr Boylan is given air time to spew his vile arrogant thoughts without being questioned or asked for evidence of his claims. well it just makes bad TV. Thank God for @LBNDublin #TonightVMT #TonightTV3

    Erica Fleming (@EricaHome1)

    Awww thanks Erica. You’re so sweet and such a kind woman. It’s just lovely that you put together such an educated and well researched comment because we disagree. Im honoured you spend so much of your free time focused on you’re hatred of me. Have a wonderful day @EricaHome1

    I haven't seen the show but Niall's opinions would never wash with Erica

    She is proof that being a media darling can get you your home forever

    Margaret Cash was just following in erica's footsteps

    The point to remember about Erica and those with similar left leaning tendencies is that she believes that only one voice should be heard ........... at all times; irrespective of the fact that they are in the minority.

    She was such the media/liberal establishment darling for so long, she actually believes what she says these days actually matter.
    Erica Fleming (love her twitter handle by the way; it says a lot about her), will be remembered for one thing and one thing only. She is a con artist. She was offered two homes while she was "homeless" and she refused both. One of them was a two-bedroom apartment in the upmarket Dublin suburb of Mount Prospect Avenue in Clontarf. But this was offered at the same time she was being filmed for an RTE documentary on the homeless crisis. She can't be a spokesperson for the homeless when she is living in a tax-payer funded fancy apartment in Clontarf, can she?

    Erica Fleming is a con artist. That will be her legacy.

    It's on their player now and i watched it back.

    He didn't really say anything bad tbh. Just said there are some on the dole that are playing the system without ever having contributed, and mentioned something briefly about personal responsibility. He also said that we should be helping people on the dole, and in society, who are out trying to do good for themselves by working hard etc.

    Nothing major.

    and yet, you actually blame FG/FF for this, despite you saying there is no alternative.

    political correctness and virtue signalling will never see any changes, a cut on S/W is seen as an "attack on the poor" and no politician ever wants to be labelled as that.

    this country needs a voice for tax payers, people who want proper justice system etc etc but it will never change as anybody who wants the country to thrive, will be labelled a right winger or a fascist.

    its the likes of Sinn Fein thats driving us in a welfare state however and theres enough votes for their type, to keep that Welfare state in place.

    O Broin Boylan and Mary Lou ars doing to Sinn Fein what Cathal Goulding and McGiolla did to them in the sixties. Moving the rhetoric to the left, forgetting about the low to middle earner in favour of the so called working class that never worked.

    Anyway I'm off out to help a traveler friend of mine from the halting site near where I live who struggles with reading with some forms he needs filled out. He teaches my 2 young kids horse riding on Saturday mornings. Ill get back to it later , ;)
    The "forms" are hardly a job application I'd venture.

    There was a woman in our estate a bit like you. She thought she was doing great things having some local traveller kids coming up to wash her car every Saturday. All went well until she noticed little things going missing from the house. Then they spotted where she kept the money she used pay them with and that drawer was cleaned out as well.
    That stopped the car washing but they still came up every Saturday banging on her door " It wasnt us Miss".

    They re actually back to education forms because he left school at 13 , and his ambition is to get his leaving cert, one of the soundest fellas I know ...also a wonderful musician , [accordian and fiddle] can play along to a tune after hearing it for the first time. He s demented from me bringing stuff up on spotify and asking him to play along, I just find it fascinating how quick he gets it. Thanks for that story about the woman ....have you any stories you want to share about settled people doing each other out of money or property or do you only collect the ones about travelers.

    I didn't see the show last night and I dint think I'll be watching a rerun of it considering who is on it

    What ever happened balance in TV debates?

    So it was basically matt Cooper, Ivan Yates, the shinner, mcwiliams all on one side v Niall Boylan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,801 ✭✭✭✭suicide_circus

    The "most vulnerable people in society" get the most airtime, countless advocacy groups, "charities" and the most benefits, allowances and free stuff. they are the sacred cow of cynical media and politicians and we never stop hearing about them.

    Yep shouted him down.

    He got his point across about free houses to the shinner who was adamant there is no free houses until he pointed out people on hap and social welfare are getting a free house.

    She was disgusted at his comments and referred to him as the likes of Niall Boylan which he pulled her up on.

    In fairness Ivan yeates kind of stuck up for him a bit but you could tell he was afraid to actually go full circle on it.

    Pathetic people are afraid to speak their minds now in fear of these leftie liberal morons.

    As much as I detest them supporting the likes of Cash, SF/AAA/PBP etc are not to blame for this. 90+ years of FF/FG/Labour are.

    Those in here saying they are voting Fine Gael are like the old grannies throughout Ireland who stick with Eircom even though they’ve sold them USA calls or broadband packages when they don’t own nor know how to use a computers.

    Margaret Cash is unfortunately entitled to all these payment thanks to Fine Gael and they aren’t going to change that. Fianna Fáil will try buy her types votes by increasing child benefit and perks.

    FG = We’re all screwed
    FF = we’re still screwed
    SF = still screwed
    LP = screwed
    Independents are on so many sides of this we haven’t got a hope or a voice.

    It’ll be up to us through protesting to have some sort of voice. The majority of people not on boards.ie from the farms, little bungalows to big houses in the country side or those making a killing on rents in the major towns and cities don’t care about the likes of Cash and her ilk breeding children like rabbits for financial gain.

    We have no alternative or no voice

    So, who will you vote for in next years Local Elections in Thurles ?

    Looks like I'll be abstaining this time around. Unless by some miracle a new political party focusing on us the squeezed middle class, affordable housing, access to credit, healthcare, tackling genuine homelessness and unemployment, disabilities etc emerges in the next few months.

    The middle classes have plenty of access to credit, if they intend to pay back the loans. But I would not be in favour of giving more credit to those who are already squeezed. Too much danger that they will not keep up repayments, and the rest of society will have to pick up the tab.

    Middle class income to me is 70K to 100K range for a working couple.

    Sinn Fein have all of what you're talking about, but with a terrible reputation. Most of the people leading Sinn Fein in the Republic however seem quite competent.

    Of course they have all of the above, they aren’t in power and don’t have to try implement them all on a budget!!

    Sure we can all promise the sun moon and stars without having to actually prove anything.

    Their a populist party and their record up north on these issues proves it.

    Give them a chance so and lets see what they can do , what s going on up north is very different from here. NI politics is unique.

    I'd rather not. They've a serious problem with people, you know, actually earning money, and good size of their supports are scumbags. Thanks but no thanks.

    If only travellers could go to other countries and see how real persecuted groups are treated they'd know they have it very lucky here.

    They seem to want their way but for others to finance it. Leaving caravans to live in houses seems to be contrary to their culture.
