Because they don't get commission, go over their heads and straight to intero. They don't want you doing courses they'd rather you secured a job scrubbing toilets than go down the education route.

    yeah went out to Intero

after arguging that yes im on jobpath but ive been linking courses i want to do to them and they wont get back to me. Intero registered me on the ECDL Ecollege course and im happy doing that now

Simple enough but nice to be doing something educational when im not working.

Since June you can opt to do a CE Scheme and you will be off the live register if you do.

Your off the live reg on Jobspath also. Just how FFG like to spin the Unemployment figures.

This one ordered by Regina Doherty due to the obvious failures of this Company. 84 million cost. 82% failure rate. You'll also know if you ever deal with this Company ,that If you get a job in your own they hound you for details so they can claim credit. So you could even dispute this rediculas figures.

If you find a job off your own back without their help they are in no way entitled to take any credit or claim a bonus for it. There have been stories of them ringing up people who got jobs themselves trying to get the employers info to claim the credit.

Once you get work and sign off they can't do anything to penalize you for non-enagement or whatever so just ignore any calls you get from your EA after that and tbh if you get an interview somewhere don't disclose where or who with.

Employers don't want some EA calling them every month for a year to, as they put it 'see how you're getting on.' Nor do they want employees who would need that.

You'll get people on here who actually are naive enough to think this crowd are helping the unemployed. Most of them aren't even qualified in HR/recruiting etc which is why yours doesn't know where to search for teaching jobs. It's totally unfit for people who are educated and capable of work.

Funny how we didn't need these schemes before the recession. Did we all forget how to type CVs since then or something? Why do we all need this handholding all of a sudden?

We don't. It's just another way of shifting the blame for the destruction of the economy onto the poor and most vulnerable.

A friend got a letter from them saying there were entitled to claim a fee even if you find your own job.
Have a look at the second paragraph in the attachment I have uploaded.

What a scam, they need to be challenged on this.

So if they get you job they're entitled to a commission, if you find one of your own accord they're still entitled to a commission!?

    What a fcuking joke

Don’t think it will change anything. It’s all the govt have in their playbook. Look at their crappy 3mil jobs Ireland website, which replaced the fas one.
As of today, 3501 jobs listed, paid positions for Dublin = 484, CE positions = 570.

True. However there is an election in the air. They'll do anything to stay in power. Including saving their own bacon by getting rid of Jobspath. Just like they did with Jobsbridge. Doherty has a notorious brass kneck. So even ordering this was a surprise. She's worried.

    some interesting reading here

Raises the question of why can't inteo directly engage with job seeker? Why the need for private sector to be brought in? Private sector businesses are counter productive to welfare systems as they are profit driven. It just doesn't work. As we have seen in Britain.

Oh very interesting. Got my file from them. Loads of information missing, like the email where I said I did not authorise them to contact my employer in any form. Loads of notes about phone calls I never accepted from them detailing conversations which never happened.

Not finished with them by a long shot!!

From reading that report it's simply outsourcing long-term unemployed to Seetec/Turas Nua whilst Intreo will look after the short term unemployed .i.e. Most likely to find employment.

Whether it's staffing issues in social welfare offices, lack of interest in long term claimants, massaging the unemployment figures in line with Government policy.... It's anyone's guess

    I personally have no gripe with any outside agency assisting jobseekers find employment, it's simply the way it's been handled that's the issue, such as;

    1. The bullying and threats people are subjected to
    2. The lack of professionalism from their advisers
    3. The handling of personal information from a public to private body re; Data Protection
    4. The constant harassment by mean of repeated e-mails, telephone calls, letters etc
    5. The organisations push towards receiving a commission without due regard for the claimants benefit
    6. The lack of compassion/awareness to peoples situations and failure to accommodate them

The whole thing is just rotten to the core and the sooner the better a more professional system is in place the better.

I've been referred to a meeting with seetec.

What's the best thing to do ?
    Refuse to sign the contract?

If you refuse to sign it this will happen...

    - They'll contact the dole and say unwilling to engage.

    - The dole will call you for a meeting.

    - They will tell you your payments will be cut if you don't sign the contract.

    - If you are still unwilling to sign it they reduce your dole before eventually cutting it completely.

    - Then you can launch an appeal, which will be a very, very long and arduous process, and you may not even be successful.

The bones of the situation is that you just have to do it or lose your dole. I'm half way through my 2nd year with Turas Nua. I know too much about the place. Your only hope is to find a job. And if you find one and you hear they are hiring let me know. I'm a soul lost in hell.

If you refuse to sign it this will happen....

    Check out Kildarestreet.com

Type in Seetec, Turas Nua or Jobpath.

The various Oireachtas discussions are all there. Reading through the ministers monologues the evidence is there that you do not have to sign the PPP documents as long as you are willing to engage in the programme. You can evidence your willingness to do so by a quick email to an 'advisor'.

This is true. But if you refuse to sign the contract turas nua will refuse to deal with you. And regardless of the policy the dole will still cut you off. The fact of the matter is that the people in the dole don't know about the misinter's monologues and follow what they believe to be the correct procedure which is to cut your dole. It is then that you must tackle the 6 month long appeal process which ultimately goes through the courts. You can go down that route but it will be long, tough and stressful, and if you are relying on the dole you will have some rough months ahead. If I see you in a sleeping bag somewhere I'll throw you whatever change I have.

If you get a job, block their number, and don't tell them where it is. From reading this thread, they'll get a bonus for having claimed that they placed you, and may even cold call the business that you're now in, asking the employer to take more staff on.

Just phone before your meeting and say you can't make it for whatever reason and they'll reschedule you.

I missed a few meetings without giving notice. If your appointment is at 12.30 and you are not there by 12.35 they will ring your phone and ask where you are. Then they will say they have to put it as a non-attendance. But if you phone the day before it's fine.

Hi Folks, I have been on Turas Nua for 3 months, Never knew anything about the refusal to sign the PPP. I would have refused if I had found this thread earlier. My policy/advice for anyone who is reading this thread and has read the links provided. Refuse and engage or sign and engage, at the end of the day, I don't really care what info they have on me, I'll play their game of engagement and entertain myself along the way, But I could have entertained myself a lot more if I had known I was well within my rights not to sign their contract. Anyways I have a question, I am scheduled to partake in some psychometric tests next week, does anyone have any experience of these? which ones do Turas Nua usually use, for the Customer! :)

Were you penalised in any way for missing meetings

I’ve been on it near a year and only have been asked to do job searches and quarterly reviews. Did you request the tests?

The employer reports back to Turas Nua and TN give you the feedback.

Would the employer have a problem in hiring someone from Turas Nua, as I heard TN rings them to see how we are doing

Anybody going for an interview would be better off saying nothing to those Parasites TN ,it has nothing to do with them.. I got a job on my own as I have done all my life and those bastards had the audacity to phone my employer causing me great embarrasement ,and I still do not know how they found out where I was working, they must have gotten the information from SW/revenue.
