Exactly. There's the likes of us, who don't want to deal with the welfare system unless we are absolutely desperate, and then theres the likes of Ms Cash, who want it all the time.

Her children had better get used to sleeping in Garda stations, because - I hate saying it, thats whats ahead, and Ms Cash, with 7 children won't be able to control them. I've seen it before.
It'll be good practice for them growing up , what with having ms cash and a convict as parents

Did they find a house for Mrs Cash next to Miriam's place?

She was mercilessly beaten by her husband, his family and her family and both her and her kids had to be housed in a refuge.

    Its their culture!
I'd assume the husband & co were not locked up?

But yet they have nothing to do at 12.23 on a thursday.
Do they not work? Or are we funding their lives of leisure too?

Niall Boylan is on tv3 tonight talking about homelessness, something tells me he will go against the grain on this issue.

    I'm just curious:
what would be your reaction to the person if:
your house was robbed, and you just caught the burglar outside you house.
What would you do to him?

Any available scrap of land within a mile radius of O’Callaghans home should have social housing built on it. These homes should be allocated to single mothers and travelers with large families. If she wants to advocate for these people by proxy through peddling nonsense in interviews then let her deal with the real issues on her own door step

It would cost the corporation huge money to make those houses fit for human habitation. God forbid they let Cash and her kids move in before they're perfect and luxurious.

I still for the life of me dont know how we have such a lucrative social welfare system. Its not sustainable at all and the governments in office dont want to be the ones to change it because it will be on them.

    Our healthcare is in crisis.

Why not cut social welfare and put the extra money in our health system.

Nice deflection of the real issue here. That issue being that Margaret Cash is fraudulently abusing the social welfare system, and using the current homelessness crisis for her own personal gain. In an era of "post-truth", "fake news", etc. these are the facts.

Now I can't speak on behalf of all posters here, but I would say that the majority of people are posting here to vent some anger. Anger at the lack of balanced reporting on this Margaret Cash case, anger at the liberal dole culture in this country - which Margaret Cash epitomizes. But I would argue that it is, above all, anger at the political system and the resistance to change. I doubt that people are posting on here to "confirm their own superiority" as Melendez suggested.
That is a fine summation of the thread and the topic at hand.

Some of the , as Melendez put it, speculation about her , her kids , and their possible futures is all the proof anyone needs that posters on this thread see her and her kind as vermin that should be locked up without trial. This thread stopped being about the system and more about scumbag bashing about 400 pages back. Don't blame Melendez he just named it for what it is.

The specs they adhere to are unreal, way beyond what anyone going out to buy a standard home would get.

you think they should just be allowed rot there and become absolute eye sores? Total failure of the councils...

who said the corpo need to buy them and develop them? CPO them and sell them to private company that would accommodation for joe soap if you like. Any increase in supply helps. But having them buildings rotting, in 2018 , with astronomical land and property prices in Dublin, is a joke!

I find it sickening to know our taxes are being wasted in this manner.

    Where's the tipping point

Yeah youve hit the nail on the head, the greying population is another massive ticking time bomb! WE all workers are taking a large hit to our standard of living to pay for this off the wall welfare state! If you think it doesnt effect you, LOL!

you think I support Ca$h?! go through my many posts here on this thread taking her to pieces. But the councils failure, is not only shafting the likes of her and her ilk, who I couldnt give a toss about, but its causing massive problems for workers and students in Dublin. Take a read of the below if you are in any way interested in the Dublin housing farce. The councils are massively underutilsing sites, laughably, they also make the decisions that mean apartments are very expensive to construct, but NO there is @no simple solution", "where is the money" spare me the usual ****!

If you are going to provide 4 start hotel accommodation and expensive housing to the "homeless" and what have workers in Dublin live out of garages, sheds and vans, as is happening? get real!

Oh don’t worry. By the time we retire we’re ****ed as there’ll be nothing there for us too so we’re doubly ****ed.
Can’t wait till the next election and TDs starting calling around.

OH YEAH! Ill have a go at all of them, mostly FG those, those scum bags CLAIMED they would represent workers. BULL****! Any way, theyve lost the votes of all of my mates and family. Problem is, no other party I can vote for, will likely figure BUT my conscience will be clear!

This insult from FG "it takes time" does it takes endless years of talking, inaction and then no delivery? They would have a different take on it , if those f**ckers and I mean all local and national politicians , had to actually deal with their actions. I was going to call it incompetence, but it isnt, this housing crisis is manufactured.
