We went out for lunch today. I had a quiche and salad, hubby had roast beef and all the veg. It came to €20 for both which was super reasonable.

Then I tried "bubble tea" which I wanted to try since it was mentioned in a book I read. Totally not what I expected. I was really disappointed and dreading looking up the ingredients.

I could be wrong but doesn't it have tapioca in it? I love tapioca so I'd probably like it.

Apparently so. That is what I thought before buying it. However I'm not sure I got authentic bubble tea because the "bubbles" were like balls of skin with goo inside. You could choose the flavour of the goo balls. Maybe thats how it's supposed to be! Wouldn't get it again though.

somewhat stuffed... first really good meal in weeks... tesco was all but giving food away |( to celebrate my first outing for many weeks. TYVM our kind, kind ferryman who got my car sorted after the last vandalism...) Apart from the TEN CENT noodles which fill my cupboards now for winter, they had broccoli and carrots at 49 cents a large bag, and one brand of ready meals I like, cottage pie and cheese'n'mac at E3 for two..

so I have had half a cheese n mac, lots of carrots and broccoli..

    Loosely used one.

Fried onions softly for 3-4 mins in olive oil, added chicken and mixed herbs for 3-4 mins until chicken was lightly coloured on yhe outside and transferred both out of the pan. Added two courgettes cut in half lengthways and then chopped. Added those to cook and added the mushrooms which were baby mushrooms halved. Allowed all of that to soften down for 5 mins before readding the chicken and onions, along with two tablespoons of flour and 300ml of milk. Removed from heat before adding milk, so it wouldn't split. Stirred it all up and left to simmer for 15 mins.

Served with lemon and black pepper cous cous, could also serve with pasta, rice or a nice light salad.

The recipe called for cream instead of milk, but too heavy for me for a lunchtine meal.

    Early dinner today.

I had eggs, chips and beans. I think it was Srameen that mentioned this a while back, and I've been longing for it since. We were away last week for a few days, and nothing I had to eat could surpass this. :)

Made the other half a fish pie. Ugh. :pac:
