I won't quote the rest of your post but the contradictions are glaring. I have no interest in looking at your posting history I respond only to whats on the thread I'm following. The Church is in the limelight because they hold the majority of responsibility and their leader is here on a jolly.

So, in order words, your accusation was baseless and you won't retract it.

I object to simply targeting the Church as if they were solely responsible for what happened. And I object to protesting the Popes visit because it's simply pissing on the day for Catholics who are in no way responsible for what happened.

So when Brendan Smyth was raping children who, appart from Brendan Smyth and the members of the catholic church management who helped him access more victims and evade justice, do you see as responsible?

Brendan Smyth went on to rape and abuse 200+ children AFTER he was found guilty by the internal church inquiry.

The children were silenced and the parents were never told but he went on with no restrictions for near 20 years.

No it has a basis, your opinion is however that it doesn't.

I am wondering how you call an insurance company and ask for a policy to cover you for abusing and raping kids

I would imagine thats the kind of stuff that the Irish Catholic Churchs long serving solicitors Arthur Cox would sort out for them. Real bang of the Knight of Columbanus in that firm who mange thousands of properties on behalf of the Church. You could just imagine the phone call to Lloyds of London, "What?! How many children? Im just putting you on hold...."

Anyway a poem by Roddy McDevitt

A Prayer For The Pope on His Arrival In Ireland

As you munch the tarmac At Dublin Airport
    Arse in the air
    May you be shafted
    Then and there
    By a rampant pink bear
    One cassock-slashing
    Pelvis-cracking thrust
For every child your church tore to shreds
    Reduced to quivering dread
    Or left for dead…

    May you be thrown back
    On your plane
    And flown to The Hague
To face trial for the plague
    Of vicious misery
    You inflicted on your flock
    With evasions so vague…

    Get in the dock Pops
    Swear on the bible
    The truth the whole truth
    And nothing but the truth
    So you and your paedophile
    Stormtroopers at last
    Face your victims
    To confess to aplogise
    To compensate and exorcise
    The demons of your disgrace
Before being dragged to the cells
And left to rot in your Rome-made hells

Well looking at the pathetic turnout for the pope, I'm not sure a protest is needed. Ignore them and they'll continue to go away.

Streets are packed and so is croke Park and apparently 500k (some sources say 600k) are to attend mass tomorrow. Oh and 45 k will attend the knock event.

The crowds he interacted with all had wristbands. I expect the numbers were controlled.

How do they know? There's lots of protest bookings of tickets.

The organisers said a day or two after the media reported about protest bookings that they were on top of the issue and had clamped down on such bookings - and that it was over hyped by the media.

How can they clamp down on the protest bookings?

I am not surprised. The people aren't going to let thousands of abused kids stop them from having a nice day out.

Their spirits will get a little dampened tomorrow morning. The attitude of the masses explains how the whole thing happened in the first place.

I heard Leo delivered a great speech. Did anyone hear it?

The PR for the Roman organisation is so poor this week, I wish the pope would come more often.

    Varadkar's Speech

“In place of Christian charity, forgiveness and compassion, far too often there was judgement, severity and cruelty, in particular towards women and children and those on the margins.

“Magdalene Laundries, Mother and Baby Homes, industrial schools, illegal adoptions and clerical child abuse are stains on our State, our society and also the Catholic Church.

“Wounds are still open and there is much to be done to bring about justice and truth and healing for victims and survivors.

“Holy Father, I ask that you use your office and influence to ensure this is done here in Ireland and across the world.“In place of Christian charity, forgiveness and compassion, far too often there was judgement, severity and cruelty, in particular towards women and children and those on the margins.

“In recent weeks, we have all listened to heart-breaking stories from Pennsylvania of brutal crimes perpetrated by people within the Catholic Church, and then obscured to protect the institution at the expense of innocent victims.

“It is a story all too tragically familiar here in Ireland.

“There can only be zero tolerance for those who abuse innocent children or who facilitate that abuse.

“We must now ensure that from words flow actions. Above all, Holy Father, I ask to you to listen to the victims.”

He should of added Do you think that I am "intrinsically disordered" ?

Many never will. The RC faith doesn't allow for changing your opinion or being open minded.

    Two things

    (1) Those attending the Phoenix Park will not see or hear the 'protest' which is several km away in Parnell Square. It's not a protest it's to show solidarity with the victims of catholic church abuse. Both the church and the state turned their back on them for decades. The church still will not open its archives or make financial restitution.

(2)The money they put on the collection plate helps fund high priced lawyers to shield paedophiles from justice. It also helps ensure convicted paedophiles have a comfortable retirement.

Any decent person should have nothing whatsoever to do with such a wicked and unrepentant organisation.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,
