    Rte reported 200 people on and near Marlborough St where he’s attending the pro cathedral in a few minutes. The RCC is dead.

    Apart from directly outside the cathedral it didn’t look controlled from the tv shots. The reporter sounded surprised with the number too.

    The official motorcade by Popemobile through the city centre is not for another hour. Most people who want to see him properly will wait for that....that's why they didn't bother with Dublin Castle this morning or Marlborough Street this afternoon.

    I've no real axe to grind with the Catholic Church, but I'm honestly not seeing huge crowds. It looks very much like a niche event, admittedly not helped by only being announced a couple of days in advance.

    Not sure what reg it was but it was definitely not UK.

    Poor photographer on the way into the cathedral was about to get the facial money shot but got doused in water and had to bless himself instead. Big bucks lost there.
