    Aaaagh! I know the singer who played the part and who it's modelled on but I don't know the character's name. And I doubt it will come to me either.

    No, no and no. They were first marketed as facial tissues but their origins go back to the 1st world war when the original material was developed for a specific purpose.

    Ah it's probably something simple like toilet paper. Easier to have a pocket size packet shoved in you pocket than a full roll of toilet paper.
