If you cut out the trips to the salon, the weekends out pi55ing cash down the toilet and buying every new iPhone, you would be surprised what and how many children can be afforded. But you can't be buying them all playstations and drones. Me and the OH have more than 2 kids and have a 3 bed semi in Dublin in an average area with similar jobs to you. It's tight, but we have never let money get in the way of family growth. We have always found a way.

On topic: The stunt pulled by that woman is not uncommon and it is disgusting how some people treat the rest of us as piggy banks.

Big difference is Cina and their girlfriend have earned that money through work and are entitled to use it as they wish.

I don't do any of that!

But doesn't it say a lot that despite having close to a 100k combined income people have to sacrifice all of that to have a mortgage and even 2 to 3 children?

it's a bit late to throw out that soundbite now. the kids exist.
Do you agree that the person, who lets the kids starving should be prosecuted?

Looks like she's out of the appartment at the end of the month despite being told she had it on a long term basics (sic).

Apparently the fact that the landlord wants the apartment back makes him a dirty lying cúnt according to comments on her FB.

    Begged for it apparently.

She's now being "advised" to squat in a council property.

Don't worry Margaret will have a plan to get exactly what she wants which is ultimately a house in Tallaght

Margaret Cash says she's dreading Luas trips to Tallaght after moving into new apartment on Parnell Street

Cash, 28, had made international headlines last week after putting up a photo of her kids sleeping in Tallaght Garda Station

After moving in yesterday, she told The Sun that she's dreading the schools re-opening as she'll have to make two round trips to Tallaght a day.

She said: “One of the kids will be starting school in September and when that happens I’ll have to get the Luas with all of them in the morning.

“What’ll there be to do over there so I’ll have to come back home and go back over to get him at half-12.

“Then I’ll have to come home again and go back over to pick the other ones up at three. That’s a lot of travelling to be doing, so it’s still not ideal. I can’t be complaining really, because it’s definitely better than nothing, but it’s still not a home forever.

“I have it for a week’s trial and then it’s on a monthly basis after that. There’s loads of room anyway."

She went on to say that a friend pointed out many boarded up houses to her in her native Tallaght, and she'd rather be out there.

“They could be used to house 40 families and no one is living in them. I’d rather be in Tallaght, but this will do for now.”

One side of the story and we already knew it was month by month. Ca't expect the counsel to suddenly come up with an apartment that long term when it's not owned by them

I know, it hurts my eyes.

There's one telling her to select a boarded up house of her choosing and squat there. I guarantee if she does that, she'll sue the second one of her kids grazes their knee in it.

BTW. Had a quick look at her page, she has lots of boarded houses pictures,
    what is it all about?

Sure just give her one of the boarded up houses for her home forever

    She's entitled to one

If people didn't make **** of the houses they were handed they wouldn't need to be boarded up! No respect when it's handed to them.. anyone getting serious handouts should be made show where the money is going! no one should be allowed turn down a house (have a 3 strikes system or something??) 7 kids aren't going to fit everywhere so it's slim pickings - get bunk beds to ****.. before we know it she'll be looking for the Christmas presents..

The UK introduced a cap on the number of children you can claim benefit for.
So have as many as you like but the government is only paying for that maximum.

If ireland doesn't have similar it should, make people think twice.

I think we should introduce a benefits cap.
EG anyone on welfare no matter what the circumstances cannot receive more than €30k combined net in a year.

Remember to earn 30k net most people would have to earn 40k+

Yeah....I suppose when the government get their finger out and give you the house you are entitled to, in the area that you insist on living in, it will probably do for now.

Nial boylan talking about the Prsi hike that’s coming down the tracks, and asking the question wether people are happy to pay more to support the welfare system. Overwhelming anger at the idea would be my summary of the calls and texts that came in. I wonder did newstalk or today fm ask any questions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,108 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    Prob not

They would assume that a PRSI hike to fund the welfare system is a good thing

Maybe so, but I’ll be making sure, Regina, the Taoiseach and my local fg’s and ff’s for that matter know I’m not happy with this idea, for what it’s worth.
I encourage everyone here to get in touch with these people by e mail and twitter etc to explain to them what your take on it is.

I will do the same but I don't think the politicians care about working people

They will when they realize enough votes are at stake. Only problem is that there is no alternative party promoting welfare reform, apart from Renua who come with other problems. I’m not even sure if they’re still around actually.

Working people don't burn cars and ruin the buildings. So the political choice is obvious.

Surely you're not suggesting people go out and buy those rubber thingys, especially when his holiness is delighting us with his presence this week???????
