Maybe the 70 million owed in rent arrears to the council might build your precious social housing or encourage the council to build more of it was paid.

    Spongers the lot of them.

    Sorry, what?
State spent €47 million housing homeless families in Dublin hotels last year

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL spent more than €47 million on hotel accommodation for homeless families last year.

Financial data released by the Department of Housing shows a total spent of €124 million on homeless service in Dublin last year, with €97 million of that money going towards emergency accommodation.

On top of the €47 million paid to hotels, a further €12 million was spent on private emergency accomodation, which includes family hubs.

That's 140m in Dublin alone. But sure what ever makes you feel like you're winning.

Would a pro worker anti long term welfare election candidate actually get elected in ireland ?

Going by AH its amazing there isn't a anti-welfare, anti-immigrant, anti-religion Political Party that caters to the people repeatedly championing these causes.

    Very odd.

Was talking to a colluige earlier today who lives in Mac uillium estate in tallaght ,

It turns out the cash one was going around the estate 3 weeks ago Knocking on people's doors asking if she could look in as she was due to get a 4bed in a few weeks ,and she needed to know how much space was inside ,

Seems well planned where she wanted to be housed

Agreed. As my mother used to say , children don't ask to be born .

Children bear the consequences of their parent's decisions all the time.

The media would savage them, and most of the time, the media decide who gets elected.

    What???

I’m taking about the 70 million owed to the council in arrears of social housing.

They don’t even bother paying the 40 euro a week back to the tax payer.

    Moochers.

If it was a 'privet' rented house as she said, wouldn't she have had a viewing?

You brought up social housing. We will spend, in Dublin alone, 140m servicing the problem. And no doubt more money next year.

You whinge about 70m owed? Yes, this is terrible and should be policed better. But you realise the housing crisis is about tax payers who can't afford to rent/buy not these movie of the week stories right?

No this is a council estate ,she had no viewing you don't get a viewing in a council house you get an offer and you say yes or no .
She was knocking on doors asking people to let her see inside as she was going to get one soon

Some of the boarded up houses they are picturing are not even council houses. One of them is apparently is boarded up because it went on fire and the owner is doing it up.

Imagine being unfortunate that your house burns down and then these lot try to shame you in to letting them live in it instead

Its common for the council to leave flats or houses empty for 6 months
or more before they give them to a new tenant.
theres a report about the treasury management agency,
they signed up to pay rent of 150million for a building.
They could buy an identical building for 100million.
Theres millions wasted every week by government on various things.
Look at tds ,senators after a few years work they can retire with large pensions .
Drive around dublin theres dozens of boarded up flats in council flat complexs .
Theres very few people having more than 2 children nowadays,
this is a very unusual case.

Are people honestly still defending this cretin despite her being exposed as a liar and a criminal? Some idiots really hold onto their ridiculous ideologies too tightly in the face of rational thought.

There's a massive amount of posts here so apologies if it's been covered already. Any idea how much she's in receipt of from the state not counting child benefit? That would be whatever housing payment she's in receipt of with all the other welfare supports available to her for 1 adult and 6/7 children. Trying to figure out what her net income would be for the year to regross it to a salary.

If you are on twitter, ARC is doing a thread with SPARK, who detail the allowances for single parents. As I remember it, it works out at 4e per day to cover all expenses.

Homeless woman Margaret Cash tells of troll hell as online haters call for the mother of seven to be ‘neutered’

Distraught Margaret begged the trolls to leave her alone as she continues to demand a permanent home from her local council.

There is no limit to how many children you can have, it doesn’t matter if I have one child or more.
