Do you not think the reason the garage owner had a problem is there is a history of people getting petrol and then riding off without paying? Is there a history of women in burkas doing drive-offs?

I don't know. Can you answer that.your good if you can.

Quite easy to answer and i suspect you already know the answer but i will humour you just this once:

That is most definitely the reason.

    No there isn't

Just show me that law that oppresses you from wearing your balaclava while you walk around town.

Never mind masks or balaclavas. Try walking into a shopping centre with your hood up (not a face covering) and see how far you get without being apprehended.

You're right, your original post before you changed it was very silly.

Going round in circles here. Do I think it was racist that a man in a motor cycle helmet could not fill petrol but someone in a Burka can. No stupid yes and maybe the owner thought he would be classed as a racist if he did or maybe he is Islamic faith. Do I want to see Burkas on the streets of Ireland. Definitely not. Now what's your view

No, I'm in the same place I was when I responded to Stephen15's complaint that a white man can't walk around in a ski mask but a muslim woman can walk around with their face covered without issue. The petrol station example seems pretty irrelevant. Both persons seem to have been wearing open face items of clothing.

I don't particularly care if someone wants to wear a burqa. There are pretty much no good arguments to ban them. I think it would be pretty reasonable to require it be removed for ID photos or if demanded by a member of law enforcement checking your ID but a full ban doesn't seem justifiable at all.

I suggest if that happens to you then you get yourself a good solicitor and sue for false imprisonment. You'd have a slam dunk case.

Once again you're the first one to mention "white" men. Almost like you have an agenda.

it was somebody from your side who first mentioned white men. Do keep up.

Complete nonsense. We don't generally conceal our faces here in the west whether you're a man or a woman.

I've walked into shopping centres with a hoody hood up and rain jacket hood up. Never ever been stopped, approached or even looked at.

If this is happening to you then perhaps did you have a run in with security before?

No need to humour me. I get where your coming from. Motor cyclist in helmet probably a criminal if wearing a Burka your grand or are you just feared of being called racist.

In general you're not allowed to have your hood up in a shopping centre.

I've had my hood up a few times going in to Liffey Valley Shopping centre and was told to pull it down.

At Manchester T3 security, I've seen an African lady being told to remove an elaborate headscarf to check there was nothing under it and yet Muslim women in burkas and other garb are allowed to walk through.

Good on her, she complained loudly and vehemently! Could still hear her in the bar but I agree with her - one law for all, or there is inherent unfairness!

Yes and did you leave it up for the duration of your stay in said shopping centres? Clearly not talking about just walking in out of the rain but you already know that.

Plenty of shopping centres (I was Liffey Valley last week and saw it) have signs specifically saying "No Hoods or Helmets". Hoods don't cover the face though.

As for your question of whether I've had run ins with security before, no I haven't. I lock criminals up for a living as it happens.

Genuine question - if there is a Muslim woman in prison, she's not allowed to wear the full dalek winter storage outfit is she ?

    Definite security risk for certain.

No, it's on a sign as you enter the shopping centre. It's for everyone. Even you.

I don't work in a female prison ordinarily but have been stationed in one a few times and I've never seen female prisoners with religious head gear.

There is no chance the poster didn't make that story up. She has racially charged stories to back up every point she's trying to make.
