Definitely......in particular Barnardos ....after listening to Fergus Finlay on Newstalk on Friday. He more or less said the taxpayer was not entitled to question this case or have an opinion on it . Anyone who does is a “troll”.

No more time for these charities , I’m done . I work very hard and always have . I’m a single Mum and have raised two kids, put them through college and am proud they both are working in good jobs now . It’s not easy but life isn’t.

I’ve only signed on once in my life for a period of 9 months , in that time I studied and got a Level 7 which helped me get the job I’m in now .

    Sickened by this case

There are too many charities. I'd never heard of the one this woman was posing for in the station. A fast way to make a few quid in this country if to make yourself head of a charity. I'm most suspicious of the ones named after their charismatic media savvy leader. Those leaders never seem shabbily dressed when they appear on TV to appeal for more money.

The problem you have is fictitious medical conditions which doctors and other health services are signing off on for people to obtain disability allowance, once you get that you have it for life unless something drastic happens in between.

We have the highest disability claimees in Europe.

Another big scam, this country is ****ed.

what next, is someone going to say 'Stalin made the trains run on time'? here's an idea, if people hate the welfare state so much go find a country where they don't have one! move to America, they love personal responsibility there. who knows, Bannon might even be president by the time you get over there!

    No.
How about the sponges and their lapdogs like you, piss off to a different country and leave the hard working members of society pay their hard earned tax and then get to see that tax being spent on worthwhile infrastructure projects.

So I take it your man was right when he came out saying people are deliberately going homeless to jump the q?

Remember eoin o Brion of Sinn Fein asking for him to resign.

All of the stuff you hear about the homeless issue is true even though we were constantly told it wasn’t.

It’s one big scam the whole thing.

There are genuine families in trouble out there losing out to the likes of these people.

I don't believe the "homeless" crises is anything like it's being made out to be, but I do believe there is an issue, and we still have people living on the streets and people well under the poverty line.

It's a pity the scammers are ripping everyone off.

Strike one or two doctors off the medical register for fraud and that problem will be solved.

Everything except that she was convicted of handling stolen goods.

She wasn't charged let alone convicted of being part of a traveller gang

I'd love someone who knows about the law to say that she can have 30 odd convictions and still get the probation act. Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought that you could only get it once & it had to be your first conviction
One of the Legal Discussion mods or CMod's/admins would know that possibly

    Who’s fault is that?

So they spend their money wisely or on fags booze and gambling?

Don’t buy this poverty nonsense either.

Well said- same poster has said I was on crack and now should go to the US.

My crime? Doing a 60 odd hour week and commuting 800km a week for the privilege.

Agreed. I can not wait for the next politician to come knocking on my door. I will ask why his/her party is doing such a disservice to the people below the povert line, by supporting the likes of this scam artist and allowing our hard earned tax be pissed up against a wall.

Ah so YOUR prejudice is okay though????

    What prejudice do I have?

I stated a simple fact that it looks like more teenage girls get pregnant now than 40 years ago yet that isn't the case. Teenage girls get to keep their babies now because we have a welfare system that we didn't have 40 years ago. I also stated a fact that the church was involved in human trafficking and sold these babies. In fact in some cases if you paid extra they would put you on the birth certificate as the natural parent.

Highest paid pensioners too and don't forget that 80 percent of adults with autism are on long term unemployment

I haven't either, McCarthy,McDonagh etc etc yeah, but definitely not Cash.

I have heard of the surname Cash a few times and they are always travellers.

    ....beyond satire.

Probably just as well, because I can see no reason to believe that you have the IQ to do satire. Indeed I suspect that your specialist subject is smug, heart-rending, moralistic anguished whataboutery.

Until this story broke I didn't think there was. Lesson learned by me :o

The only cash's I heard of was the store Brown Thomas took over many years ago.

I believe there are real poor people.

a cleaner in our job works three jobs and her husband 2 to put the children through college and buy a house. She had no college and wants better fiorher children. There are many people like this. I have no problem supporting people like this.

I think government politicians went big time offside on this one.

Me too, FG is now seriously alienating it's own core base by riding this bandwagon.

They should let the Paul Murphy types do the crying here.

Hopefully they might answer it. I genuinely don't know for sure but if you can only get the probation act once & if it has to be your first offence then whatever article saying she has 30 odd convictions must be about a different woman. Travellers do tend to keep the same names in the family so that's possible

But perhaps if someone was to plead guilty to one charge and then ask for a further 30 to be taken into consideration, and point out to the judge that she has a large number of dependent kids and that her husband/partner/weekend poker (take your pick) is currently in prison, such a person might get off with the Probation Act?

Probation act for over 30 charges?

I can't see that being the case.

I don't suppose anyone has a link to the 30 previous charges?

Not trying to high jack this thread but has anybody else being put of giving to homeless charities? When they see what we call the modern day homeless.
I've heard of a good few loosing interest in them because of it.

I regularly donate clothes and shoes to charity shops and I take part in the Tesco food drive. However, I'm very hesitant about donating actual money and usually only donate actual money if I'm very familiar with the charity.

receiving stolen property even once, is once too many.

It was referenced that she failed to turn up to numerous bench warrants.

She is stealing from people like me and everyone like me. People who work for every penny. That's my property that people like her pass around when they are caught miles from home.

She's now trying to rub our nose in it.

Whatever about you, she won't fool me.
