It was my birthday yesterday so ate and drank a lot. Too much I think! I have jambons in the oven now and prosecco chilling. Be back to the grindstone soon so may as well enjoy it.

    And welcome back Northgirl :)

Dinner was boiled ham, finished in the oven with a few cloves and a whiskey glaze, roast potatoes and mash, broccoli and carrots.

Dessert was Nigella's lemon pavlova. I've been asked to make this for a party next week, and I wanted to do a practice run. It's really refreshing and makes a lovely change from the fresh fruit. Made my own curd though, I hate wasting egg yolks. :)

That sounds divine...my gran aunt who's in her 80s is a fantastic baker and does a fabulous pavlova, she brought one to a family BBQ recently and put a layer of lemon curd on the meringue before putting on the filling,it really gave it a kick...would love a slice right now.

Yeah, it makes a lovely change, I hope I'm still enjoying it when I'm in my 80's, fair play to her, it's a great pastime, makes you very popular at parties ;):D

Thanks! I'm eating an Indian stir fry but it's a bit strange, coconut, spinach, rice and peas with a resemblance of chicken. Not sure I'll be buying again.

They're handy when you want something tasty , but not sure what to get !

I love when it gets near Christmas and they bring in loads of different types of them :o

It's great all year when you can get it. Diggers brand is bloody great. Spring rolls, Samosa's etc. Deadly. A Lidl sweet chili sauce to dip and its game on!
