Make sure children have the supports they need in national school. That would give the best outcomes.

Even whine master Joe Duffy asked for a show of hands in his live show in Limerick and 90% thought it was a ridiculous idea.

WHAT A IDIOTIC IDEA BY SHANE ROSS .
Iv got 2 kids under 4 years old, both in Creche full time, as my wife and I work. Creche fees are crippling us, along with mortgage etc. My parents are both deceased, and my wifes parents are in their 80's.

Why should i pay for Johnny down the road, who, not only the luxury of having all the grandparents around to help him / mind his kids, but now, I have to give money towards his "granny".

this is so frustrating for me to hear. grow up shane!
Lord Sutch Ross has listened to you.

He now says it can be an aunt or uncle or niece or nephew.

Rumour has it that it will be extended to anyone you've had a pint with (obviously not driving home after)

I do have pity for Danny Healy-rae, he has been knocked off his crown of being the Dail clownhead and it is now proudly worn by Lord Sutch

If it were only for Grandparents who looked after kids so the parents could work, there might be some argument but then why not just give parents a grant for childminding? We'll have every chancer in the land applying regardless of personal circumstance/income. He should be ran out of politics.

Often heard a politician would sell their granny for a vote, now they are trying to buy the grannies.
