I put it on before I leave for work in the morning and take it off again when I get home - I rarely notice that I am still wearing it if out and about during work.

Shame on you. You have no respect for the unemployed......(apparently).

Saw two tossers leaving my estate this morning for work with employee I.D lanyards around their necks.

Ive worked in roles that required employee I.D's and I would be mortified to wear them around in public.

Jesus u must be easily mortified.

Need it to get in to, out of and around the office, and access the printer. If it wasn't attached to me in some way I would forget it. Simple as that.

I just chuck mine in a drawer in my desk when I get to work. I don't move between floors all day.

    Someone said that ?? Wierd!!!

I put mine on in the morning like some others, and take it off at night.

I don't see the big deal ? I'm not going up to homeless people and waving a wad of cash like Harry Enfield!

I have a job, is that something to be ashamed of and hidden now ???

I don't have a lanyard, but this thread is making me think that they should be obligatory for all employees. If we all start wearing them, dole-heads, pensioners, and those lousy workshy small children might be shamed into getting jobs by our collective awesome breadwinningishness.

Now you're insulting them for disclosing that you sleep under a roof at night.
    Have you no shame???

in this instance i think the offence to the unemployed from working folk of wearing a lanyard in public is taken, not given.

its a projection of your own insecurities.
