Wearing work ID in public?

I put it on before I leave for work in the morning and take it off again when I get home - I rarely notice that I am still wearing it if out and about during work.

Mine has a harp on it because I'm a civil servant... Worse again!!!!

Need it to get in to, out of and around the office, and access the printer. If it wasn't attached to me in some way I would forget it. Simple as that.

I just chuck mine in a drawer in my desk when I get to work. I don't move between floors all day.

I don't have a lanyard, but this thread is making me think that they should be obligatory for all employees. If we all start wearing them, dole-heads, pensioners, and those lousy workshy small children might be shamed into getting jobs by our collective awesome breadwinningishness.
