If Limerick managed to win the All Ireland imagine the boost hurling in the city would receive. It's badly needed. The likes of Claughaun, Old Christians and St Patrick's wouldn't make a senior club team between them at the moment. There's been numerous task forces but they weren't up to much. A New hurling club with heavy backing would be a great idea..like a revival of Young Irelanders maybe

The absence of Tipperary or Kilkenny in the two semis is a bit eerie. Not what we'd be used to.

It does feel strange not to have Kilkenny administering the rogerings that they were handing out for years.

Great to see other teams doing well obviously (particularly Galway).

Long may it Last. If someone comes on here saying the semis are lacking due to the absence of Tipp or Kilkenny then please keep it to yourself. It's great not to have them about especially Tipp.

Tipp and Kilkenny just weren't good enough this year, if anyone says otherwise they're completely deluded.

It sounds like ye are disappointed nobody is arguing these things because ye have nothing to get in a knicker fit about.

Cork are the preferable of the big 3 to have knocking about. Their hurling is better to watch and their supporters more colourful

A fully fit Callanan would of helped tipp big time.

The Munster series was tough on them
But the bottom of a post denied them going through. Small margins

They might still be the closest to Galway. Although they have poistional worries in some areas.

    Red, the most colourful colour.

Anyone know the logic behind having no concessions in the Hogan? Has always confused me.

So the AI intermediate final takes place on Sat in Nowlan Park between Kilkenny and Cork

The odd thing is they are the only 2 teams in the championship. Does anyone care ??

Would anyone know when the stadium is well short of capacity can you move to another section. As in if your ticket is in the corner cusack can you move across to the Hogan for a more central view?

When it's well short of capacity you can move to an empty unused seat if you want, so long as it's not taken by anyone else you won't have a problem. Won't be an option this weekend though, 70K expected at Sunday's game and 50K+ at Galway v Clare. There are no real bad seats in Croke Park unless you're up at the top of the Upper Deck, which is too high and too far away for me, though some people might well like it.

Galway to get a big scare but win by 4pts

    Limerick to win by 5

Limerick 4/1 for the All Ireland tempting

It's a great opportunity for those on the KK and Cork teams to represent their county... but the competition should really be scrapped at this stage. Two competing teams in a competition is an absolute joke

What's the harm if Kilkenny and Cork are happy to field teams for it? It's a chance for some youngsters to get some inter county game time at least.

Well what makes it a bigger farce is that who ever wins has to field a completly differnet team the following year, this made sense when you had a full comliment of teams competing but when there are only two then its a complete joke.

But rather than simply scrapping it, why not put the effort into getting more teams to compete, chage the eligibilty rules etc. I would always be of the opinion that the more intercounty matches the better, I remember this competition back in the late eighties, early nineties and there were some cracking games, Tipp and KK used to meet fairly regularly in the final and there were some great games.

Honestly? Its going the way of the dodo. Which is a shame.

What I'd do would be to allow the Intermediate sides compete in the Christy Ring Cup and make that the Intermediate All-Ireland.

Promotion/relegation would not be considered for "B" teams, but would still be allowed for "A" teams. For example, if Kilkenny won the Intermediate hurling championship, they would not be promoted nor would the bottom side of the McDonagh Cup be relegated. But if Kildare were to win it, promotion/relegation rules would come into play.

Give me the old fixture calendar back please

Stand alone semi finals on different weekends

Put the final back in it’s rightful spot

    Hope you're right re: Galway.
Think Cork will find a way to win somehow.

Any traffic restrictions around Croke Park over the weekend, can I cross over Dorset St from the north circular road, looking at parking in O'Connell Secondary School? I can find anything online.

The likes of Kerry, Carlow, Westmeath and Laois should enter this for a chance to win an Intermediate All Ireland medal.

That would make a good 6 team completion.

Run in off over 5 weeks from mid July to mid August.

The only issue could be is that these counties try to run off their own hurling championships in July and August.

Student and oap concessions are in the Hogan, just can't get juvenile tickets for there.

I remember up to recent years the intermediate championship was played before the senior Munster championship games and got a fair bit of interest with fans in early to warm up for the senior match. Players on fringes of senior squad played and gave them inter county experience of playing in front of big crowds. Counties started pulling out then and with only 2 teams taking part it's a farce now and should be scrapped.
