The only deficiency in his game is the lack of knock out power. He is a superb boxer, he is making Gassiev look ordinary.

    True..

118-110 Usyk. Seriously impressive from him, expected more from Gassiev, I know Usyk was just too good for him tonight but still expected a bit more.

You really couldn't convince me that Golovkin, Crawford or Lomachenko have a better resume than Usyk. Honestly this guy might be the best fighter on the planet P4P.

    120-108 Usyk

He certainly made it look easy.

Cruiser weight needs more attention from fans. There’s been some good matches there over recent years.

I remember boxnation used to show some good German or Russian cards.

They are big enough to bang hard but small enough to be mobile.

Gassiev won 1 or 2 nights at most and even that be generous. Great performance by Usyk. Has to be one of the fittest around to keep up that output for 12 rounds.

What next is now the biggest question as he's cleaned up the division

Lost all respect for gassiev in that fight, just happy to be in there with his mate, absolute disgraceful output stats

    Unreal performance. 12-0.

Move him up to heavyweight now. He's a good enough boxer to mix it with the best there.

Where's the money elsewhere? I think Lebedev is the WBA mandatory, and then Vlasov is the highest ranked fighter who hasn't been in the tournament but neither of them are big paydays really. There's no big name US or UK fighter at the top there either.

Bellew might be the best fight there money wise that isn't a straight leap to HW

I meant Bellew won't be interested in fighting Uysk because he'll more than likely get far more money if he faces Fury.

Kind of agree. Not to take away from Usyk, but Gassiev was half asleep, or at least looked it..right from bell 1...

Ah, I get you. Yup, that makes sense.

Bellew is probably Usyks best fight out there. Catch-weight at 220 or something, and he can think about going to HW.

Think he deserves a homecoming fight in Ukraine though.

Some amount of gold on him now.

His lack of heavy hands will be his undoing against the likes of Joshua, you may argue he can outbox Joshua, but Joshua's size and power will eventually prove the difference. No doubt Uysk has a good chin, but taking a flush shot from a fellow cruiserweight is one thing, but i doubt he could withstand a flush shot from a heavy handed heavyweight.

I’d give him better chance v Fury...

    Puncher’s chance against both...

    Does he have the power?

    Maybe not.

But he has a great chin & could outbox every HW.

It wasn't down to a lack of trying, he was getting the head jabbed off him.

He was, but I think he also lacked enthusiasm and effort. His own trainer knew it..

Outboxes AJ and Wilder and Fury, all 3/4/5 inches taller and 2/3 huge hitters...?

Outboxing Gassiev is one thing. Not remotely comparable to trying it against bigger and stronger and heavier hitting men...

Would he be throwing as much, as easily wanting to throw as much?

Then they land clean? What then?

When your constantly getting punched in the face, it deters you from throwing shots. He was consistently getting countered any time he let his hands go. He was willingly coming forward but struggled because Usyk wasn't a static target.

Fair enough. Personally I was never wowed by him. I guess he was just his usual self. But this time against a real quality act..

At least we'll get to see him at HW. There is nothing left for him at CW. The only thing worth doing is beating Lebedev but Gassiev beat him anyway.

He doesn't have the power to mix it with the HW lads but nobody has the skills, technique, stamina or output to mix it with Usyk. He's not that much smaller than the likes of Povetkin or Parker and he's got a good wide frame so he can pack on some size. It'll take time but there's no reason why he can't be a force at HW.

I used to think that too but seeing him tonight I think he has the style to give Joshua fits. Good movers will always give Joshua problems.

His power is fine too I think. Dillian Whyte is similar height/power wise and had Joshua rocked. People make too much of power. Technical ability and smarts wise he's on a different stratosphere to Joshua.

I’m my opinion he couldn’t compete with the hard hitting super heavies like Joshua and wilder.

He could potentially have good fights with fury, Parker, povetkin and the likes. He would be most likely need to be winning on points though so it could be tough

Uh oh, somebody on here is going to be very upset - Usyk is speaking in his own native language!!!

How dare he not speak English!! Get back to school!!

Joshua's power is overated. Parker dealt with it easily.

Yeah he outboxes all the names you mentioned.

Hopefully Gassiev moves to heavy too. He's more than capable of mixing it with the big names himself.
