It’s on a Tuesday at 3pm, don’t think it was thought through very much, might still get a crowd but reckon there would have been higher demand if it was in the evening

Only 7,000 capacity. It will sell out no problem no matter what time or day its on

In fairness how do you know that he is a joker before big games for United? He could be the exact same though we will never see that aired in public

Tullio Tint (Darmian’s agent): “Talks? Progressing very well. We’re at an advanced stage with Juventus.”

Is it - saying he has no idea what United are doing with regards to transfers? That doesn't seem standard at all.

It's a standard non-answer designed to kill questions about the window. I'm sure he absolutely does know what is or isn't happening.

    Reddit Round Up:

Jose not happy with no players for pre-season, but WC so whatever, it'll be good for the young players.

De Gea, Matic and Fred all return to PS next week.

Not happy with Sanchez not being able to come on tour, has to respect the decision of USA but not good when he expects him to be starting vs Leicester in 3 weeks.

Has no idea what new signings are coming. Couldn't reveal anything.
Dalot is injured, had surgery and won't be fit for the start of the season. September.

Happy for Pogba winning the WC, thinks it'll be good for him and hopefully he realises why he was so good for France.

Obviously he means if deals will get done or not Mitch, he said it clearly he wasnt going to say yes or no, of course he knows what they are doing he is the bloody manager.

I wouldn't be taking much either way from that comment of Jose's. However, in his time at United so far he has been quite open during the transfer windows when asked about potential signings.

With or without his comment, I'm not optimistic about us addressing important areas this Summer, like it was so important for us to do.

Seems that he rates this Dalot kid quiet highly, bought him while he was injured, says he will be up to speed by September, as he was afraid to miss out on him

Also if you take him for his word it looks like Shaw will startbthe season at lb

Guys I hate to keep asking this question, but Bale is left footed and everyone wants him as a right winger. Surely that's a contradiction in itself. We all hammer Ashley for cutting in from Left Back to get on his right foot so why would we now buy a naturally left footed player to play on the right wing? Am i missing something here??
Robben is left footed but plays on the right, Alexis Sanchez is right footed but plays on left. Modern day attackers that flank a central striker are supposed to cut in and play on the side their foot is weakest. Ashley Young's case is different because hes playing as Full back. In the modern game most of the width comes from the full backs so ideally they should be playing on the side of the pitch their foot is strongest

Well with Dalot out and Young on extended Holiday we only have Shaw and Mitchell as LB's at start of the season. If Shaw can't beat Mitchell to the start he should give up altogether.

    Of course he knows.

Standard as in he is giving nothing away and he is dead right

Well, he would have to. Who else would? Rojo won't be back in time, Young won't be back in time, Blind sold and Darmian looks like he is out the door.

So we are left with Shaw, the guy Jose doesn't trust at all.

It doesn't yet speak to a new dawn for Shaw, right now it as much says that Shaw is the only option Jose has.

Plenty of talk over last summer, and again this summer, that Jose wants a left back but hasn't been able get one he wants within budget.

I'll can already see the 5 pages of rage when Young immediately displaces Shaw as soon as he comes back a few games into the season :pac:

Well if Shaw is doing well, then some 'rage' will be warranted.

That's what concerns me about this pre-season - People see it as a chance for the youngsters/fringe players to impress and lay down a claim for a starting spot.

I don't think it matters. The manager has his players which he prefers and trusts, and I see most of them being immediately reinstated upon returning after their holidays.

If Pogba is the inspiring leader for united that he looked for France I would be interested to hear what benefit it would be to keep that private when he’s getting all sorts of dogs abuse about not looking like he cares?!!

And then there is the question as to whether or not his fellow professionals would respond well to him giving a warriors call and putting in less then inspiring performances.

I think it’s fair to say that most united fans want Pogba to succeed at united and to see him flourish. The difference is that some of us don’t think innuendo and guessing what he might give to the team as an reason to excuse the performances we have seen or the drama that has surrounded him and Jose.

There has been drama between Jose and Pogba alright, but I have to say Pogba has been a pro through-out. Anytime he was asked about it, especially during the 'worst' of it in February when he was dropped for McTominay, Pogba always said something like "There is no problem, the manager picks the team and I respect his decisions."

No, that doesn't make up for some spineless performances from him, but I have hope that he and Jose are able to have a professional relationship no matter what they think of each other personally.

My worry on Pogba is that we will have weeks of speculation linking him away, with no ability to replace him if he is sold.

Will United be String enough to keep him, if he really wants out, towards the end of August.

What if the replacement is already signed in Fred?

If United don't want to sell him he won't be sold.

To suggest otherwise is preposterous imo.

Then we still need another midfield signing.

So we wanted to sell Ddg a few summers ago? Or we planned on the transfer failing after agreeing to sell?

Or we wanted to sell Ronaldo?

Sure, and I'd be optimistic about holding onto Pogba. However, maintaining Fellaini could be viewed as a very big thing within the club.

Fred, Matic, Fellaini, Herrera, McTominay. Yeah, I'd be hoping that neither Ed or Jose would be looking at that thinking 'Cool, job done'.
