We're adding a little over 30,000 a year in terms of birth rate, so that is 30% of the estimated 1mn increase being Irish born citizens at a low estimate (five or so years ago it was 50,000).

African or non-Chinese Asians are likely to grow the most as a percentage (as smaller numbered groups typically will - bring over just 500 Samoans in the next 20 years and their increase would likely dwarf any other group as there are basically none here right now) , but do not show any signs of accounting for anywhere even in the ballpark of over half of any 20yr, 1mn population increase in terms. of bulk numbers.

In that case you can rest easy, as someone born in Ireland does not, as can not, immigrate to Ireland from a third world country which is what you were concerned about.

Example: I was born in the Coombe in Dublin. As such, my Irish passport and I have never needed to emigrate into Ireland. I have never needed to seek asylum in Ireland. I ha e never needed to even apply for a working visa in Ireland. I doubt you have either (assuming of course that you are Irish born).
