Should our u20s win on Saturday the final will be played in croker on the 5th of August at 1 15...Dublin v Ross play after.
Was hoping it might have been nearer home than traipsing upto Dublin.

Replacing the U21`s. U17`s replacing the minors
Totally agree. Whoever makes the final deserves their day in Croke Park

    Mayo LGFA released a statement:

The Executive Board of Mayo LGFA is acutely aware of the critical importance of player welfare. Player wellbeing is fundamental to all coaching and management structures.

A comprehensive programme is in place to ensure that all Mayo players can train and perform in a safe and supportive environment and all necessary resources have been made available to enable the Mayo Senior Ladies compete with the very best in the country.

In the light of media speculation about unspecified 'personal and sensitive' issues, the Board feels it important to state that the senior management team has adhered to all protocols and guidelines set out at the beginning of their tenure.

The Board has made players and management aware that they have our full support going forward and we will continue to work with all parties to find an amicable resolution.

Finally, we would call on all Mayo fans to come out and support the team in Saturday's TG4 All-Ireland Qualifier against Cavan and for the remainder of the season.

There maybe more players following her yet who don't want to leave but are being pushed into a corner to walk out.
    It's sad times unfortunately.

If that's true then she should be told to bolt.

Not really. It says that the management have followed proper procedure regarding player welfare. In other words, let them walk away if they want.

Yeah but it doesn’t actually say what happened and why 10 players decided to go.

Probably best not to go into detail. The players that walked out would then have room to come back with another statement undermining it and it would get very messy.

Agreed I think the county board wanted to put an end to any speculation re the talk re personal and sensitive issues whatever that meant.?

But we are indeed none the wiser as to what's at the core of the issue?

God knows. Guaranteed it will all come out soon!

We know what Health & Safety was code for... We'll just have to wait a while to find out what Player Wellbeing stands for.

It's all very messy, that statement did nothing but bring it to attention once again.

What's the Cora of the issue :)

I haven't a clue but Management were fairly adamant that she wasn't coming straight back into the team / panel to face the Dubs after her return from Oz. I thought it was a little odd at the time that they came out so strong / publicly at the time. I got the impression that they were trying to move on without her.

From a Management point of view, it'll have to happen at some stage soon but who knows what's going on.

Are all 10 players from Carnacon?

In the final last year, it was pretty clear that Cora was playing for herself. This may be a bit harsh considering her time in the jersey but it was evident she was not laying off the ball when she should have but taking on solo runs/shots. I think that statement was laying down the ground rules a bit to her before she came back in.

Manager out/player power in another disguise I would say but its kinda messed up when 10 only went.

The final last year was not the first time. She has been doing it for quite some time.
No idea how accurate it is but one on the papers, Indo or Irish Times, reported that the majority who walked were from Carnacon.
Player power does not really work unless there is support from the vast majority of the team and there is some public backing for their grievances.
This player power walk out so far looks to have neither, so I very much doubt the county board are going to do much.

What I’ve heard, pinch of salt required and open to any story to be corrected.
Cora was told she going to be used as impact sub which didn’t sit well, her club mates rowed in behind her. Apparently one of the more senior members got a dusting in a training session. When in the huddle she was telling players to do this do that and was told by management to concentrate on own game as getting cleaned out. She took the huff ...
    Rumours eh..,,

    Pathetic if true
Very interesting to hear what going on
It’s bizzare that 10 walked but everyone else stayed. Usually things are all or nothing

If that's true then I don't see how anyone could question the management. They were seriously being undermined there.

Team named and no representation from Carnacon on it.

There is usually two sides to the story as well but we don't need this BS. We have more than enough of this crap from H&C/Jackson episodes but she must have some power tripping going on if she is able to make the others walk. Its impossible to manage this kind of crap. He should have seen this coming and made an example of someone like Horan did a few years ago or not take her back.

Shouldn’t Cora be playing for the Seniors now anyway ?
