I'd start by having her shadowing them and if she proves popular, get her to fill in more regularly.

One question though? Why would they give a fcuk about some nobody enough to let them shadow a major star?

There are plenty of stand in presenters who nobody had heard of who went on to become major stars. How many people had heard of Scott Mills when he was drafted in to cover a poorly Zoe Ball on the Radio 1 breakfast show in 1998? Just one example there. He later became one of the biggest names in UK radio.

Bit different than some D-Lister from Ireland taking one of the biggest gigs in the US.

I think Laura should shadow someone like Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien etc to get US audiences to know her, and after a while she might get her own show Stateside. Wouldn't that be fun? Maybe Jimmy K/Jimmy F/James Corden gets a week off and LW fills in in their absence. Maybe she and Iain Stirling should do a skit on SNL. Also, Laura is still with MTV, just not as often as she used to be.

As for the previously mentioned taking a week off, they've already got/know enough people to stand in for them if needed..

    Probably where you're fantasy booking this nobody to replace some of the biggest stars over there, see here;

Would you crowbar the legs off them so Laura gets a shot?

I doubt they even know/care about Laura Whitmore's existence, like I said they already got/know enough emergency cover if it were needed.

Out of interest, how did Corden get his first big break in the US? Taking ovet from Craig Ferguson was a big jump imo.

Check my posts on that thread. You clearly don't get sarcasm. And judging by your stalkeresque posts, you also don't get the concept of self awareness either.

Probably because of I'd imagine any of the following..
Co-created, co-wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey (2007–2010) for which he won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Performance.

    Or
Corden has presented the Brit Awards ceremony five times, four by himself and once with Minogue and Mathew Horne. In 2016, he hosted the 70th Tony Awards; he went on to host the Grammy Awards in 2017 and 2018.

    Or
presented the sports-based comedy panel show A League of Their Own on Sky 1 since 2010.

    OR
In 2011, he played the lead part in the comedy play One Man, Two Guvnors, which transferred from the National Theatre to the West End and then to Broadway and was also cinecast worldwide via National Theatre Live. For his performance in the Broadway run of the play, Corden won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.

In 2015 he received the BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.

Or the fact the chairman of CBS Entertainment said in a statement
CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said in a statement, that Corden is a warm, charming and original performer whose "diverse range of creative instincts and performance talent" make him a "rare entertainment force". Tassler cited Corden's work in such media as theatre, film and television, and called him "loved and respected" in all of them.

Take your pick from any of the above, whereas looking at Ms. Whitmore's Wiki, she hasn't really done anything of note to make people sit up and take notice of her the same way James Corden has..

TL;DR You're beating a dead horse that no one here (you being the obvious exception) really cares about.

So Love Island USA is happening. Will this be Laura's chance to get US work or will they go for a presenter Americans are more familiar with? By the way, if only for this news, I wouldn't have asked.

Well if that self righteous dose from 2fm can get on it, it only seems fair LW should get a run.

Mikey, if you could have sex with Laura, OR watch Dara Quilty have sex with her, you’d choose the latter, wouldn’t you?

    I wouldn't choose either.

    You're very funny though.

    Thanks!

Likewise, I think you’re hilarious. Your posts are genuinely funny; though it is unintentional comedy and we’re laughing at you, and mostly for your fanboy enthusiasm for mediocrity. I can’t figure out if you’re:
    a) Lottie Ryan
    b) Dara Quilty’s mom/agent
    c) a troll with a specialist subject matter of “random Irish average radio and tv presenters Mikey Taylor is in love with”
    d) a young wannabe Barry Egan
    e) serious (which gives me great cause for concern)
    f) some weird hybrid of the above

    Bit harsh.

Also, MikeyTaylor isn't a real person, he's an alter ego who just happens to be obsessed with LW :-)

Look, I think she should give America a try and, if she can't make it over there, stick with London or maybe even move back to Dublin. Better to try and fail, than not try at all!

Any truth in the rumours she's taking over from Amanda Byram on DWTS?

    People in glasshouses...

It's a bit rich that you are having a go at poor Mikey when you have demonstrated your own obsessional tendencies with your bizarre fascination for Joe Duffy. Multiple thousand posts about his appearance, his earnings, his competence. A vendetta is what best describes it.

Plenty of people are laughing at you also.

    Lol!

Esp. at "vendetta". I think you may need to consult a dictionary to get a definition of that word if you're going to use it.

And of course the irony of you commenting on my "obsession" (I assure you I am not obsessed with Joe Duffy) whilst you have clearly taken considerable time to research my posting history.

As for people laughing at me - they can if they want, believe it or not I don't actually care.

And judging by your large post count you're likely an existing poster using a second account. I think I have a fair idea who you are too.

Survival of the Fittest has been axed after one series. They said it was simply too expensive to make.

Who? Never heard of the lass. But then I don't watch reality TV rubbish.

If she's that well known here, then surely Hollywood fame is within her grasp.*
