He did well in the game if course he did but nothing more.

If He put in decent performances for United like that secind half again next season not many would complain but he wasn't best player on pitch.

I haven't discussed who the best player on the pitch was.

But out of interest who was? Thought the performance was professional and quite easy in the end for France.

But I'm not sure there was many candidates for MOTM

Pogba doesnt contribute enough to be a world class palyer. He has the talent, but hasnt the application. He rarely delivers.

Hes strong, great passer but he switches off too easily, his work rate is below the standard and his decison making often is just bad.

He hasnt done well for United and IMO drags us down.

I don't usually agree with Richie Sadlier but he hit the nail on the head in saying Pogba seems happier to do flashy pieces of individual skill, I.e step overs etc than to actually do basic things that will have a bigger contribution to the team game

Interested to see the way this pans out.

If France win the world cup and the way it's been projected that so much of the focus of the setup runs through Pogba then what will the critics have to say?

I thought it was griezman to be honest his free kick was pretty fantastic delivered into the box and even tho the paper dropped a clanger for the goal he still needed to take the shot. His movement up front was very good.

I didn't think pogba was bad or anything.

Thats just as hyperbole as saying that he is the best player on the pitch. He did an awful lot if basics right today it has been solid most of the world cup. Yes his style is to do some flashy things that don't always come off but he doesn't always need to be targeted for them if he has put In a decent performance.

There's not much the critics can say he'll be a world cup winner, but im sure they'll come up with something unless he gets the winner in the final of course :)

But we never play that way really in those matches, we are usually camped out in their half trying to break down stubborn defences.

Fred is a box to box player and he has a very good passing range, likes to play the ball forward and always seems to look for the thru ball from what I have seen of him. He has a great engine too.

I must have been looking at a completely different season than you so. Football up to end of Oct was excellent iirc but there wasn't many matches after that where we were camped anywhere. Our defeat to the worst team in the premiership at Old Trafford contained 2 defensive midfielders Herrera and Matic alongside Pogba. He has to be able to add that game intelligence to his game to be able to adapt to a two man midfield. We surely cannot play 2 holding midfielders against the likes of West Brom next season.

Just because we play two deep players dont mean they are two defensive midfielders Herrera is not a defensive midfielder or a holding midfielder the closest he ever comes it was when asked to man mark hazard for a game.

Fred is a deep lying playmaker that is also very good at contributing defensively he will not be a defensive midfielder same as pogba will never be a defensive midfielder he will be required to work defensively when needed.

I like the big lug but I always feel hes a better impact sub than a starter.

They need him v Brazil. Can't allow them space to play like they did v Japan. Chadli and Fell should set them up better without the ball and also for the important set pieces.

I think you’re giving Martinez a bit too much credit there. I’d say it was more like, they scored when they came on in the last game so I should probably start them.
In my humble opinion, that man is the biggest spoofer in football. I’m still amazed he is tasked with managing such a talented crop of players.

Frees up De Bruyne to play further up the pitch which can only be a good thing if you want Belgium to win, which I do.

He did get his feet mixed up though. He lost the ball because of it.

Either way, great play for the second goal.

Lads if Belgium win the World Cup. I honestly worry for Bangkok's well being. Marouane Fellaini world cup winner may tip him over the edge.

    He’s been excellent that half.

Lukaku Hazard and De Bruyne have been unbelievable.

Lukaku has been immense, quickly becoming my favourite player at Utd

More evidence that Lukaku can be a great forward in an attack focused side.

Really wish United would get the top level attacker to go with him and Alexis Sanchez.
