Knowing our CB Fergal Hartley or Peter Quelly will get the job

Good to see planning permission has gone in for Walsh Park. Any know if we can view the plans anywhere?

Where does it say officially that the planning permission has been applied for?

Typical county board again, they should be advertising the fact that they are moving forward but again it is cloak and dagger stuff to find out about anything!

How hard would it be to put a post on their Facebook or Twitter to the plans and a great announcement about the great news on the planning permission etc!

We could do a Dublin on it with Jason Ryan along with an experienced hurling brain. He would also be a good man to have as a physical trainer in the set up

The players need to be consulted about who they want for the job cause you knw our CB
The difference with Gilroy is at least he had been successful as a football manager. Ryan has never won anything. Its 10 years since Wexford footballers got to that AI semi final

I think that’s being a bit unfair to Jason Ryan. He did an exceptional job with an average enough Wexford team. They won the league that year and then went on a run in the Championship. They got to their first Leinster Final in years and although they were well beaten in the final he got them back up again to go out and beat Down the following week and then Armagh. They could have beaten Tyrone in the All Ireland semi if Mattie Forde hadn’t gone off injured and an unlucky bounce of a ball stopped them from getting a goal which would have put them level with 10 mins to go. The heads went down after that but he got them in some shape.

They should have won the 2011 Leinster Final too only a terrible error by their keeper led to an own goal and Dublin got a few scores after that. Ryan did an incredible job with that team and he’s still spoken of very fondly by people in Wexford. Dunno what happened with Kildare but he’s a good man and his achievements shouldn’t be underestimated. For all that Jason is, Waterford senior hurling anything he is not.

Excellent interview with DMG on offtheball during the week. well worth a listen. what does stick out locally is the standard of journalism we have in Waterford is complete ****e. Gilroy was excellent in the interview with DMG.

what will happen next with us? the next Waterford manager will get 2 to 3 years and then DMG will return. it was quite obvious from the above mentioned interview.

Why would DMG return? He has had a 5 year stint, one league title, (great achievement), lost two munster, one league and one all ireland final. Won 11 championship games from 21 (a large chunk of those wins were in qualifiers against the likes of westmeath, offaly, laois).

All this with an exceptionally good team. DMG gave it his all and deserves credit for the league title and thanks for the effort but I don't feel his tenure has been a hugh success as some people seem to think as to why people would want him back, I don't understand.

The fact we won the league in his second season we definitely should have pushed on and won at least a provincial title.

Did you really think it was a good interview? I thought it was strange to be honest. Very little insights into hurling or his views on the game or the team in general. Talking more about what he learned from arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettinos books than he did about inter county hurling management. A lot of ranting and raving. The man talks 1000 words a minute. I’d struggle to listen to him if he was my manager or teacher

I forgot to add in the three championship games from this year so that makes 11 wins from 24 championship games

Dungarvan 0-13- DLS 1-10 full time

    DLS top group B

Its group A Ballgunner have a superior scoring difference and will top the group regardless of the weekends result

All to play for in Group C with all teams on 2 points. Mount Sion vs Lismore and passage vs Fourmilewater the games this weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭cul beag

Shocking stuff in Walsh Park. The county championship will Be Ballygunner’s to lose going on tonight. Dungarvan scored 5 pts and DLS scored 4pts in the second half which should tell you all you need to know.

Are Ballyduff Upper as a club struggling for numbers or are Ballygunner that good. Very good scoring from them and looking like nobody will stop them

Ballyduff aren't too bad they're fielding 2 teams at adult level, but its a bit like looking at this year's leinster football final and saying ' are laois struggling for numbers or are dublin that good'

Ballyduff are missing Mikey Kearney and a few others. For a small club to miss one would be a massive loss to loose any more they can't cope.

Ballygunner were missing Philip Mahony and Barry Coughlan I'm guessing?

    Today's senior games
Grp A- Abbeyside vs An Rinn- 6.30
Grp C- Lismore vs Mount Sion- 6.30
Grp C- Passage vs Roanmore- 6.30

First Kildare are allowed play in Newbridge and now the Leinster final replay takes place in Thurles!!!!

No reason why we we couldn't play our home games in Walsh Park or Kilkenny?

The Waterford County board shown up to be a complete bunch of incompetent dopes again.

County board looking worse and worse the more this season goes on, how they allowed us to be screwed over is shameful. As much we rightly blame the board for their poor efforts, you would expect to be treated with fairness by the decision makers, some thing shown up during the week by Kildare also.

    Mt sion 4-17 lismore 2-15
    Passage 1-11 roanmore 0-13
