12 month warranty sounds better to your average punter than a 12 month or 5000 mile warranty which in reality is a lot less to someone who does even average mileage. Reality is that he could have said it had a 3 year warranty or 5000 miles knowing that majority of drivers will hit the 5000 mile limit a lot sooner than the time limit. Saying he will sort anything out just sounds like "say anything to close the sale" talk, otherwise why not just give the 12 month warranty and cut out the 5000 miles bull****? Without it in writing I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Most 10 year old cars won't come with a full 12 month comprehensive warranty but given the money he was looking for it I would have thought that price covered a decent warranty. I'd feel a bit short changed by that sneaky 5000 mile limit unless I paid substantially less than what he was asking for it.
