They are horrible. All about acting the mad lad and being great craic altogether. When the reality is all they do is take your money.

Now I like betting. I'll do a small one most days of this World Cup. But there feels like something really toxic or morally wrong with the way betting companies market themselves. It feels very deceptive and I don't like it.

So I want Paddy Powers marketing team to piss off. Please.

Some cheek from Paddy Power. Should know better than to advertise to you.

Gambler hates gambling ads. What are the odds?

Seriously what are the odds here? Time to make a bit of extra cash.

And as for those Maroon 5 pricks....

That ad really gets on my nerves, apart from the brief glimpse of the pretty lady in the blue and white shirt and short shorts.

I do think there should be a watershed of 10pm when it comes to gambling adverts on TV. Children watching sports are normalised to gambling and bookies before they can even play football.

I cannot stand the amount of gambling adverts on TV at the moment. Was watching some show with the other half a few weeks ago - It was one of her shows, defo a female target audience. Well, I was shocked by the amount of adverts for online casinos for women.. Pink this casino, pink that casino, fluffy this betting etc.. All they do is get people addicted, hoover up all their money and spit them out at Gamblers anonymous minus a house and a family.

I think all online gambling should be illegal.

Agree with this. They should be banished to the late night wastelands, to roam among the party line and shoddy sex toy adverts.

The gambling ads are going to be the next big social issue like smoking and drinking and the ads will be eventually banned.

If you stopped at "I hate Paddy Power ads", you would have been correct.

They're all awful, the lad banter sh*te they try and engage in is painful.

And as for those Maroon 5 pricks....

Surely we would all spend a few thousand euro extra to get a car that would protect our children from Maroon 5.
It seems complicated, involving a drone somehow, but that must give it a greater anti-Maroon range.

Bravo Hyundai!! Get the message out there.

That ad fills me with rage. It really does. Christ I fcuking hate it. I wish a dose of the trots on that hipster looking fcukbag Adam Levine. Absolute ****-knuckes in that ad and nothing else. Kill them all with fire. Thank you for your time.

She's a gee-bag too. What's she doing gawking like that. Imbecile. Stalking that family, specifically the child. She's a kunt muffin.

Paddy Power's marketing is lowest denominator ****e. Aimed at the sort of idiot who watched/watches Soccer AM and thinks Transfer Deadline Day is an actual thing to look forward to, to the extent they plan it out and get the beers and crisps in so they can sit up and watch Jim White.

A lot of people buy in to that lad culture banter sfuff and Paddy Power know who they can make the most money off of.

That ad is so out of taste. The girl moments from getting wiped out when trying to open her car door, to Maroon 5 singing and smiling. It's nearly making a joke of the car safety features.

PP twitter is excellent, the ads not so much.

Don't like the blaming of the company for problem gamblers though, I don't blame Mcdonalds advertising for all the fat people around.

Bit of self-control and responsibility never hurt anybody.

And I don't blame alcohol adverts for people being alcoholics. But having these ads on during the day while impressionable kids will be watching the football is morally wrong.

I'm all for people making their own decisions in life, but only adults. Children need to be kept out of it.

Precisely. They target everything at the younger gambler these days; have a look at any Powers shop and they're putting in as many of the betting machines as they can - and it's all young lads doing soccer and sports bet on them.

This is unrelated but can you thank this post? When you thank a post, it always looks like about 3 people are thanking it.

I try to limit my exposure to ads whenever I can -- rarely watch TV. Avoiding ads is great. Most of them are boring. If only there were ad blockers for regular TV.
