sheep breeds recommended?

    Hi grazing an acre or so of grass land wanting to try my hand at sheep. Any suggestion of what to start with. Thanks

    Lowland cross, close to pension age!

    Suffolk, Texel or something like that whose ditch-jumping days are behind them.

    Maybe buy a few cull ewes “in need of feeding” as they say, and try them on the acre.

    Have you water on site, by the way? Sheep aren’t big water drinkers but they’ll get thru enough of it in this weather.

    Yes have water pipe going to the field. Just need to organise a feeder.
