I'd be gutted to see him go to Barca, genuinely thought we had him last year.. As much as I rate him I don't think he'd suit our current style of play

A defensively solid one who looks to take their chances when they come along? Pretty much how Atletico play. The fact that he can play both on the right and off the striker, is friends with Pogba and seems to really like United, at least has in the past, ticks a lot of the boxes for me.

It'd just be a case of getting over his horrid celebrations after heartbreak 2 years ago :p

The Griezmann saga could be over before the WC even starts but it'll be interesting to see Deschamps attempts to play Pogba and Griezmann in the same system and whether it changes over the course of the tournament.

Pogba needs to hit the ground running in the WC.

He's very much still a popular figure with the French fans, but a lot are desperate for him to rediscover his form. He plays well but a lot more is expected of him, and this is frustrating some fans.

The fans seem willing to continue with him, or at least the ones I've talked to, pointing out that when he turns it on can change the game.

For Deschamps it's a different story. If they win the games with Pogba not flashing but playing decent he will press on with him. If they struggle and Pogba hasn't stepped up then he could well be sitting on the bench.

Going to be interesting to see, really hope he has a good WC.

Yep, agree completely. Deschamps is in a similar boat to Jose in that playing Pogba limits his options elsewhere in the team with Griezmann having to play from a much wider position.

If Pogba isn't influencing games (whether in one off moments or throughout the entire game) then the manager will be forced into a difficult decision.

See papers are linking Memphis with a move to AC Milan and mentioning the sell-on clause in our deal.

It would have to be a case of AC Milan offering big bucks to Lyon to take him away. Not sure how keen he would be about it. He's found form in Lyon and just dragged them into next years CL.

While AC Milan have a great history they just finished 6th this season, quite a bit behind the rest and I hear rumours some of their better players are about to be poached. For his career it would be best to stick with Lyon but we will wait and see.

This could be my favourite post in this entire forum :pac:

It's so elegant. The subtle shoe-horn to get the name drop. The generic ending to add validity. The fact it came from Bangkok, too, haha.

Do you not remember the absolute roasting you got for pretending to be in the know a few seasons ago?

Christ Almighty man. Why do this to yourself :pac:

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

I play bowling with Phil Jones most Tuesday nights, hence why I defend him so much, the man can hit a split with ease. Smalling (or Lil' Chrissy) as we call him, pops by sometimes to pick up Phil, he can get a bit hyper after a few cans of pop and wouldn't be safe behind the wheel.

I have heard Chris mention Bangkok in passing but have always assumed he was referring to the place. Hopefully we cross paths tonight and I can double check.

I actually used to be in the know years ago when I lived in Manchester, out of pure chance.

Started working at a Barber's and ended up cutting Fabien Barthez's hair for a year. He would spend hours there just gossiping. Loved an aul cig so he did, if the place was empty I'd flick the closed sign over and let him smoke away. Miss those days.

Probably has something to do with him claiming to have sat next to Mata's father at OT and then his friends, brothers, uncles, dog being ITK in Turin.

Hardly surprising it's hard to believe.

Don't forget his brother that worked in Carrington.

His access request for the soccer forum is a whopper too.
