He has not being fact checking the FUNDAMENTAL fact that what we are being asked to vote on is the removal of all and any protections of the unborn, and passing over the responsibility of (and GOD KNOWS what that will be) LIFE ITSELF to a handful of elected officials, whatever their whim might be!! this is a serious issue! and pitting women against the unborn is the saddest thing. Every person alive today was once a bunch of cells, was once a foetus. It's fúcking beautiful. I believe in that beauty.I believe in defending life itself. And i'm absolutely voting no

All and any protections? Firstly, we are getting rid of the one and only right they have, which is more than the majority of countries give them. Secondly, they will still be protected, just not at the same level as the mother.

We had over responsibility for life itself to politicians and legislators in just about every other way. Are you worried about that?

It is beautiful, but like all things in nature, there's an ugly side that no amount of patching will fix.

I’m voting No and will always oppose anything the leftwing espouses. There will be a lot of enraged feminists and soyboys when it is a No vote Saturday afternoon

No baby with down syndrome born in Iceland for 5 years. 90% of country would be happy with legislation for rape and incest. It will lead to a slippery slope imo. Eventually genetic testing will be available for every sort of anomaly. Cystic fibrosis. Cerebral palsy.
Heart disease. Ginger hair. Small. Tall.

It will just lead to eugenics. We saw what happened in nazi Germany with that.

Are you going to vote on what is being proposed or on something completely fabricated?

The look of disgust on Mary Lou's face when Declan was given a personal heart felt plea.

Because his story would not have changed if the 8th wasn't there.

That attitude says more about you than it does about these alleged ‘feminists’ and ‘soyboys’.

Iceland has an app so it allows you to check if you are related to someone to so you are not having sex with a close relative. Its got a small population so having an "incest prevention” app goes against them wanting to legislate to enable incest.

Regina Doherty did very well tonight and she really bit back at Maria steen... Long overdue!

Regina was the winner by several lengths. She was informed, rational and didn't interrupt (well nothing like as much as the lady beside her). She was soft spoken and considered, rather than hectoring and excitable. In addition, she has the ability, so rare in Irish politicians, to deliver a coherent point clearly, in good English and without falling over words, repeating herself or inserting numerous errrs and ummms.

I'm not an FG voter either. In fact, I'm glad she isn't in my constituency because I'd be tempted...

Pat Kenny really ran the show firmly tonight.
This set the tone for a more in depth and worthy debate.
Also,he really showed other presenters why he is still top dog when it comes to chairing a lively debate....

Im looking at you Claire Byrne!

And completely off topic... Michael Harding for President.

Ran the show whose format was, a bit like Pat, stiff.

Too bitty, too focused on the clock. It got everyone on edge

The byrne debate, whilst chaotic actually had better flow.

Is the gruesome twosome here really the best pair the No side can rustle up?

Tory Boy isn't going to win any No votes that's for sure.

Michael Martin must be wondering how this debate will play with his FF party which seem to be on the NO side as a party.

Tbh I have never heard of soyboys and now have an image of teenage boys who couldn't get on the sports team inventing a new sport where you juggle open bottles of soy and the least sticky one still standing when the bottles are empty wins and the losers clean up.

I’m a man, I’m Catholic, I’m Conservative, I’m Rightwing, I’m politically incorrect, I really don’t give a damn what you think because I’m right and your wrong and nothing will change that.

The old folks home is next door and I volunteer time to play scrabble with the old dears. They usually win. Damn right it is my business.

Plus, they were born, and some of them lived through ww2. Amazing stories. As for the ones who went to England in the 50s, jesus they are amazing people.

Way more scintillating conversation than with a miscarrying foetus.

Or, in other words, abortion is not the same as or even equivalent to torching an old folks home or a school.
Well done on an utter failure to address the actual point.
Why should anybody vote to permit people the choice to do something they think is wrong? If you just don't want to answer that's fine, we'll know the score.
