    Hi,

My redmi note 3 has begun to randomly shut off, sometimes just goes dead, sometimes blue screen then dead, and once the screen was a load of different coloured lines, it always comes back on if I hold the power button.

This morning it shut off, and when I turned it back on the time was 01:00 (actual time was 07:30) until it kicked back into network given time.

Does this mean the battery is disconnecting? Seems to happen a lot more when im moving, was cutting the grass last night and phone shut off four times, so thinking if it's getting bounced about it might be the battery,

It still charges and holds charge as normal

Replaced my battery at the end of February and is working well for me.

See this post for the battery I got,
it is easy enough to replace,
just be careful of fingerprint cable when opening the device.

Getting the glue strips out could be the difficult part, I had to pry my old battery out.

Hope it is just the battery giving you problems and not the charging port as well.

I have gotten 1 day 17 hours with 15% remaining in the past.

Usually get a days use out of the device with 40% to 50% remaining.

Edit: - Also hoping to buy RN5 [WHYRED][Global] this summer.

Already Purchased RN5 since the above post!

I was looking at the rn5 in case of the worst case scenario, are you happy with it? Did it get past customs ok?

I only got it last Friday, from honorbuy eu warehouse, so no vat problems. But HK Goldway on Aliexpress with VAT Free shipping is cheaper at the moment.

Oh yes I'm happy with it so far.

Imo the best deals currently available are

LeEco cool 1 dual / le 3 / le s3 , all around 100 euro or cheaper. Big discount since company went bankrupt, wont get ota updates though.

Meizu Pro 6 plus / Pro 6s / Pro 7 , if you want a Meizu phone these are much better than the budget series. Have Amoled screen and better build, cameras for only a tiny bit more, highly discounted from original prices. They all come in global versions and were recently updated to newest flyme os.

    Nubia m2, z17 mini

Not including the obvious xiaomi ones but rather these are deals which are really when they're gone, they're definitely gone!

I've been looking at the Nubia z17 mini. Looks very decent for around €140.

Not a must. Somebody picked it up earlier in the thread and ran with it.

Band 3 is 4G here too, but mainly larger cities. Band 20 is better for Rural 4G.
    3G should be available everywhere.
That said, I thought it did have Band 20, i was looking at another phoneat the same time and must have see it there.

This was a post on xda and then someone replied saying it worked

"You need to disconnect the battery smile.gif ( holding 10 seconds will not help )
Open the back cover, remove the screws and the plastic motherboard cover and disconnect the battery flat cable, and connect it back in."

This is bad news. Huawei will soon no longer offer bootloader unlocks for their devices!

Update, tried this but it's still the same when you plug it in it flashes red but when you try to power it on nothing, I'm thinking maybe replace the battery but I'm not sure any other ideas?

Apparently quite a few mi5s suffer from this. The mainboard could also be dead. Since the phone was open did you get a look at the moisture indicators, were they white or red?

There isn't much difference in weight between light and heavy phones of the same screen size, you won't really notice it without side by side weight comparison. How heavy a phone feels is more down to its weight distribution.

I can check it again it wasn't dropped in water anyway so I doubt it's moisture damage I replaced the battery before but it was just a cheapish one from aliexpress could that be the issue?

Could well be, why did you need to replace the original one? Definitely worth trying a new battery anyway, try the Nohon replacement one, they're probably considered the most reliable 3rd party ones.

The original one wasn't charging right then started to swell so I took it out before it exploded I'll try one of the Nohon ones anyway and see how I do

Had a redmi note 3 pro then replaced that with a mi5. Looking for an update now but not interested in paying mix2s prices. Contemplating the redmi note 5 or the mix2, 64gb minimum. Bought the mia1 for the missus and it's a cracker so I dunno what to buy!!!
Trouble ( for me) is there's so many variants- any advice welcome!!

Have you looked at any other brands, e.g. Vivo, Nubia or Oppo, or just prefer Xiaomi?

    E.G. The Nubia Z17, Oppo R11 or Vivo V7+

They would be in or around/inbetween the specs of both phones mentioned.
