Harris is wiping the floor with Tobin here. If it's a yes on Friday then this could be the making of his political career.

The making? He’s already a senior government minister.

I agree that he is playing a blinder here. Very impressive.

    Ultimately the reality is this.

Vote no and women will still be forced to go to the UK for an abortion (for whatever reason, whether you agree with it or not.. Though I take issue with the notion that any such woman takes such a decision lightly as the abortion as contraception argument would suggest).

Vote yes and at least these women can get the care and support they need at home.

Harris seems to only have the rape case argument which is a small percentage.

    Not doing well at all.

Ah ye I know, sure it's only rape, minor issue really.

Peadar Toibin couldn't give a monkeys anyway, he's more concerned with party political statements, good platform I suppose.

First time I've ever seen even a hint of colour in Simon's face. Can't do a proper tie knot though.

Frankly, I feel like the No side is ignoring the fact that women are forced to travel for abortion and that somehow lives are saved by not allowing women to go through the whole harrowing experience on home soil.

    But that's just me.

Can't have nasty abortion tainting pure Catholic Ireland...

The Steen and Sherlock mess ups point at a campaign in disarray. Why did no want to send Steen to RTE tonight and pull her from a confirmed TV3?

i think rte would not let her on tonight

Cora Sherlock was scheduled to do Primetime tonight. She pulled out last minute. Steen was scheduled to do Pat Kenny tomorrow. Word is she has pulled out of that. No campaign attempted to force Steen on RTE as a late replacement. As she has pulled out of TV3 tomorrow...I don't think their campaign organisation is looking too grown up.

Random? He is former president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. He is editor-in-chief of a journal devoted to best practice in obstetrics and gynecology. He was flown in because he is an internationally recognised expert in the field and has no prior connections to the case under investigation. But you somehow know better than he does. Perhaps god told you?

No supporters trying to clap everything in the audience - they want the Claire Byrne free for all because their arguments don't stand on their own two feet.

Is there a law against being enthusiastic? The Yes supporters in the audience must be comatose.

Seems steen has pulled out of the debate tomorrow
    Yep.

It's a tactic. They're not throwing their toys out of the pram, they're deliberately throwing the debates to try and take the fire out of the yes campaign.

The No campaign is going to lose on Friday unless people don't turn up to vote. They're hoping that by making it look like a dead cert for Yes, that people won't turn out.

I think realistically if they make a song and dance about it people will watch unseasoned "No" campaigners get slaughtered and they'll feel even more empowered to get out.

Mary Higgins should be made explain why many countries with abortion have a higher maternal death rate.

Robert how sure are you that abortion is a cause here? And why? Let me know what research papers I should read on the subject.

Vote yes to make abortion safe and accessible for women in Ireland. If you vote no, abortion will continue, you will force women to continue travelling outside of Ireland, you will force women to continue buying abortion pills online. Vote yes. Repeal the 8th.

Don't twist my words. It's not minor but a small percentage of abortion. Harris speaks as if the majority area rape.

Bizarre that the No side are backing out like this. So strange.

Protecting their personal reputations I think. Leaving a sinking ship.

Can you explain why many countries with abortion have lower maternal death rates? We did this to death a week ago.

I know, but he's looking to tarnish the opposition and promote himself in the process, pretty much as low as it gets considering the debate.

The old mental health card. Clear as day it's used as an excuse, ticking a box exercise in the process of getting an abortion.

Simon Harris is losing this by making up things that Peadar Toibin didn't say.

Are you sure about that because you have form for doing exactly this

Without the charisma of Maria Steen the no campaign hasn't a hope in honest debates.

    That's the truth.

Voting no will not change the current situation at all unless they're somehow going to stop them travelling (which isn't the case)

Voting yes will let them get the support they need without the added stress, expense and isolation of a plane/ferry trip to another country.

Its a tactic but I think its more that they doubt an Iona institute spokesperson is a good option to convince the undecided. I imagine the very religious would already be no voters.

Yes but who is he? What's the agenda? We have a right to ask questions about a fellow none of us ever heard of a week ago influencing a referendum.
