Guys anyone know why this would be working flawlessly on my shield, with both us netflix and BBC iPlayer, but will only seem to work for Netflix on my firestick?

Is there s location setting in the Fire stick I'm missing or something?

    Cheers.

It works with no issues at all on fire box.

is it a first gen stick? i know they said issues with those.

it wouldn't work on my 1st gen firestick. I got a router with OpenVPN that can happily play netflix US on laptop through this router but the 1st gen firestick is still saying I am using a proxy

It's not actually my stick, its just one I have access to guys.

How do I determine if it's a first or second gen?

Check the FCC ID number on the housing:

    1st-Gen = 2ABDU-0509
    2nd-Gen = 2AE6S-0948

Cheers Basq, it is indeed first gen, so that clears that one up.

I'm lost as to why my firestick is picking up a WiFi signal that's vpn processed but still knows its a proxy when the same WiFi signal works fine on other devices for us Netflix. What is it about the firestick that's different?

I don't think it supports VPN tunnelling or something like that..

.. it does however work with a Smart DNS service like Getflix.

    Ahhhh that makes sense. Thanks

If setting this up on a router does it require manual change everytime I want to change countries? Lets say I want to watch BBC iPlayer and then want to switch to netflix US. I see theres an optimal option for server in the manual config option.

Anyone set this up on a router?

Did it ever connect to your Chromecast with VPN Unlimited? I thought the Chromecast uses Google's own DNS etc so a VPN can't be used.

Anybody manage to cast BBC IPlayer via VPN Unlimited??

Anyone else having problems using the BBC iPlayer with this?

It was working perfectly when connected to the BBC iPlayer Hampshire network, but just tried it now and can't access the BBC iPlayer anymore. Player launches but can't play any videos.

ITV Hub is still working fine, but the iPlayer is no longer working. Anyone else experiencing this?

It's a Fire TV I'm using too. Was working perfectly before, but just tried it last night and not working at all. Must try it again later on this evening and if no joy, well it looks like I'll be testing out their online support!

Just watching an old top of the pops on Iplayer via my Nvidia Shield so it’s working for me.

I'm having the exact opposite problems here.

Itv just keeps trying to get me to sign up, and won't let me watch anything.

Tried signing up, but can't do that either.

Very odd, because it was working flawlessly beforehand.

I had trouble a few weeks ago on my Windows 10 pc and just could not connect and had to contact support, this was there response:

Please, try to do the following:
    1. Run VPN Unlimited app and log in.
    2. Go to Settings -> Network Settings -> Select IKEv2.
    3. Try to connect to several different servers.
    4. Check the performance, and let us know about your results.

This fixed the issue for about a week. Now it seems to come and go and I have to change settings, try a few different servers, disconnect then go back to IKEv2 a few times and sometimes it works and some times I give up and switch to RTE Player instead. Sometimes when I can connect, viewing a show stalls a lot and I give up. So far I recon I have only been able to watch a show half of the times I have tried. If I had paid more than 15e I would be very disappointed.

I also find web browsing impossibly slow while connected to the BBC iPlayer Hamshire server but maybe this server is only for viewing iPlayer and works as expected?

I think etflix is down. I'm not getting Hulu, HBO, BBC iplayer or Netflix. I'm guessing it'll be back tomorow
