Is it unusual to go from an all clear smear test to a total hysterectomy, eight weeks of chemo and radio therapy and brachytherapy within two years?

    That's surely a medical question?
AFAIK, there are some very aggressive forms of cervical cancer, where you would see the approach you've described above.

    I'm sorry that this happened.
Ask for your medical records, and full disclosure.

griffonmark, if you think you or someone in your family were maybe affected by the current CervicalCheck scandal, the person affected can call the CervicalCheck hotline that they are running at the moment to answer people's queries - 1800 45 45 55

Their latest statement (published last night) is available here: https://www.cervicalcheck.ie/news/cervicalcheck-statement-1st-may-2018.13384.html

Given all that is going on at the moment, get it checked out as miamee has suggested.
