If it's Davidson I'd imagine there's a touch of who Ulster could get rather than who they wanted.

Wasn't impressed by him when he coached Dungannon. They went from being poor to.being shìte.

Was thinking that? But people still stating Friends as DOR. Just hope it doesn’t turn out another jobs for the boys!

Well if Friends end up running Ulster does that mean we get both Ross and Joey?????:D

Given our past record we'll end up with Chandler Bing

Forget head coach, bring him in at 10. Can't be worse than anyone on the books...

Bryn Cunningham says ye have signed a new head coach but they're not in a position to announce it yet

He looked quite smug with the 'I know something ye dont' !

He said the new man was their 'primary target' and the IRFU was happy.

    How has this not leaked?

How do you know it hasn't leaked, and it's one of the already mentioned names?

Potentially what ever coach it is is still pursuing silverware and didn't want things derailed.

Hmmm... ... it'll probably be feckin Lancaster.

A scatter of names isnt a leak.

"Pssst, Mr So&So has put pen to paper" would be a leak.

If it is Davidson, its a good thing.

Arno Botha from London Irish apparently going Ulster. Is he the same guy who was supposed to sign last year?

No need to get a loose head or another lock. Ridiculous if true

I’ve seen it mentioned in a few places but the origin seems to be rugbyinsideline on Twitter. Dno if that’s reliable

Forget about winning primary possession the important thing is to sign another full back for half a million a year. Everyone knows that outside backs win games........

The sad thing, after a quick google he's done well stat wise at London Irish. Most carries and turnovers in his short time there. But he is now injuried. Wonder is there concern Deysel is finished? Rory Grice could be worth considering.
If we sign a backdrop and ignore loosehead/2nd row fans will go mad. Paddy Ryan and Andries Ferreira are out of contract.
What have we learnt from Munster V Ulster?
    • - We don't have ball carriers...had 4 opensides playing today. Ospreys playoff will be worse with our injuries.
    • - Gilroy can't catch a ball to save a life, I was considering him as our future fullback. Answered that today.
    • - Marshal needs to work on passing
    • - Shanahan may of sealed his fate
    • + Curtis is a hard nut and looks very good considering his age/experience
    • + O'Toole had a hard shift but more experience, hard to remember his age

    Yes

Ulster definitely need to buy a top class LH. Black is gone to Worcester and that leaves Warwick and V der Merve I think. Not great quality there - not even Pro14 level.

On the other side of the scrum they have Ah You, Herbst, Moore, Kane and now O'Toole. Herbst is always injured, Ah You is inconsistent at best and Kane/O'Toole are very raw. Hopefully Moore works out. I wonder will Ah You be switched back to LH. Hasn't he played for Connacht there before?

A quality LH is very important for them.

Ah You at LH would only work if we didn't have to move. Loosehead needs to be more athletic, destructive and mobile. Sadly Ah You doesn't have two of them traits.
Kane could potentially be first choice next season if he can hold the injuries off. Really rate him scrummages well and hits rucks hard. He will only get better. I think we'l see one off Herbst/Ah You out the door.

Surely not Lancaster, does he have an out clause for a head coach position? Cunningham is saying it's was their first choice , Davidson could not be your first choice?!

If you take Lancaster and carbery you owe Leinster the first born of every member of the squad.

I doubt out clauses would be mentioned if it was Lancaster. He wouldn't even be changing employer really.

With all the talk of Wasps players looking to utilise the "out-clauses" in their contracts, perhaps Dai Young is on the menu!

I reckon Cunningham would say anything, he has recent form for that.

Would assume Lancaster's contract would be with the IRFU and not Leinster directly, so out clauses wouldn't be applicable if he was just changing province.

If it is true and coupled with Moore, Jordi and Timoney we may as well change our name to the North Leinster rejects.

Some small consolation that a win wouldn't have mattered anyway cuz Edinburgh just beat Glasgow.

Not to many Leinster fans shouting reject at Murphy now....
Talking of Wasp get out clauses, I'd eat the arm of you for Launchbury.
Honestly think the coach will be a souther hemisphere coach, mind reading somewhere about super contracts restricting signing contracts until the last 30 days of the season.
