What will the rebrand be? The way the music is going on Nova it will sound very like 4fm. Bay broadcasting will hardly have two stations the same competing in the same market will they. Could we see a merger and them going fully national as one station

Sticking to PPSs in Castleforbes House seems to be a rare occurence, what with Sunshine basically not playing country anymore.

How can they afford LK... surely they could have gotten half a dozen dj's that know about music for what theyre paying her.....

Conor went to persue other things.. thats how.

Hayes must really love the sound of his own voice too, every second advert has him in it now. I was listening to Greg last night and couldn't help notice.

Colm got a hint of Vince McMahon playing more of a role in the WWF? Vince was always just a commentator in my day :D:D:D

Not if your PPS is the one they seem to be using instead!

Beginning at the 8am news, they've played:

    - Start Me Up - Stones

Very unscientific and small sample size but that's exactly what I want from my radio music and it's exactly what Nova "should" be paying.

It's a shame so many people seem determined to hate it without giving it a go.

'Start Me Up' has to be the most overplayed songs ever released (on Nova or any station out there) :-(

The Colm and Lucy show is like a dull wedding where the DJ fails to show and the most embarrassing uncle takes over the 'entertainment.' Cue early exits all round.

Who remembers when Lucy Kennedy sat in for Ian Dempsey on Today FM?

Well I'm going to have to switch to another station whether i like it or not, as it now starts at 7am (i prefer to listen to chat first thing) and the driving section of my commute is from 6.30-7.00.

It's been a bit of a mess so far anyway, first day they played the news jingle 10 mins early and Hayes didnt appear to know what he was doing with the controls. Elaine on news sounded audibly annoyed.

Im sure that's just teething issues, but any content ive heard hasnt been exactly riveting and as I've said, they've decided for me with that 7am start. Seems they've folded to the demands of this new pair.

So were Weenie and TheButt on from 6.30...??

Nobody here seems to have noticed that this morning it was The Colm and Lucy Breakfast Show with Colm Hayes and Rebecca Horan! Lucy will not be around on Fridays because of her TV work. They talked to her on the phone at one stage, when I was listening to it anyway!

The music is fine. It's the bits between the music that could be the problem!

Oh Jesus, they haven't done that??

I knew Marty and Conor had been pulled, but I was expecting something a bit more innovative than a rehashed partnership that failed badly on the national broadcaster previously. Lucy Kennedy is a complete dose.

Thats always been the problem with Nova...they just cant shut up and play music...Courtenay is probably the worst offender...

Heard a bit of it this morning, music was better than yesterday and Rebecca Horan isnt as hard on the ears as Lucy Kennedy. I always get the impression when listening to LK that she's just winging it and knows it herself.

That’s the thing with the likes of them, they never seem to last long at anything before being found out and getting moved on the the next gig. Let’s hope this is a short stint. Going by public reaction so far I’m hopeful

It was meant to be a 6-10am show, if I'm not mistaken? Did Hayes decide that he didn't fancy such an early start?

On a different note, I see Kennedy has already enlisted the services of an understudy, Rebecca Horan.

The negative feedback continues unabated on Facebook. I wonder will the ratings reflect the same.

Had it on this morning before work...was surprised it wasn't on before 7. Anyway, listened yesterday, found it awful. Even worse this morning. Guy in work listens to Nova too and also commented that he thought he'd switched on 98fm.
Shame, music is still decent and I liked Conor and Marty.

Be careful what you wish for for those who didn't like that pair. :pac:

I think that's her style. I like it! It sounds like a buddy.

Marty has toned down the bantz now he's on his own, and playing some good tunes.
Even played Reverend and the Makers yesterday! Phantom would have been the only other station to play it.
I wonder is his playlist a bit more relaxed as it's not the heavy focus of the morning show?

Theyve played Heaveyweight Champion of the World a fair bit recently. Might get Bandits or even French Kiss!!!
