you cant force me to form the opinion that suits your agenda

But you can happily force a woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy to full term to suit your agenda.

    Hi logic.

It is being blind if one only believes there are lies on the side they oppose, but believe everything from the side that one supports.

there have been several posts similar to this on this thread.

Someone asked what were the lies told by both sides.

ther was a reply listing a lot of lies told by the NO side , but there has yet to any reply telling us the lies told by the YES side.

I would someone to list these as it would give me a more balanced opinion of how both sides are running their campaigns .

So everything the yes side is putting out is pure truth?

Show me instances where they haven't been, on this thread or on the referendum thread, and I'll do my best to research them and see if they really are lies.

Then I'll list off all the lies the no campaign has said and wait for your response on that.

For me I’m going to either vote YES or not vote. The YES campaign is convincing me to not vote.

To be fair, have you seen the absolutely disgraceful carry on from the No campaign?

    • Made a video tell men how they should know their place, pretending to be from the YES side until it was discovered it was actually a pro-life video.
    • Gave out posters with a fascist symbol on them at a repeal rally, so they could photograph people holding them.
    • Planted a pro-life campaigner at a repeal rally, pretending to be repeal but holding up a inflammatory sign. Unfortunately for them, the same woman was photographed as an official at pro-life rallies previously.
    • Pretended that a convicted thief and arms dealer was a nurse who worked in an abortion centre. Even forged documents (with typos) to try and make it seem genuine.
    • Tore down posters themselves and were videoed doing it (why nobody is mentioning that, I don't know).
    • Their posters are a lie. 1 in 5 is actually 17.5 in 1000. We are also not voting for abortion up to 6 months, and that is a fully developed baby on that poster, not a 12 week old foetus.
    • Putting very graphic posters outside of schools despite children not actually voting. They claim it's reality but if there was a poster of a rotting corpse outside the school, there would be uproar too.
    • Repeatedly lying about what we are voting on.
    • Silence on where their money is coming from, but have no problem pointing fingers.
    • Illegal posters that don't have the required information on them.
    • Multitude of bots

And yet, because the Yes side may or may not have tore down posters (which could have been the pro-life side, considering the rest of their behaviour), you're going to hand the vote over to the anti-repeal side, which is essentially what not voting is doing.

I believe it is a lie to the public to put up posters about abortion and leave out what people are voting for, instead people are being asked to vote yes for compassion.
People would vote yes for compassion if it was compassion we are voting on, we are voting on the right to life of the unborn, and if that right should remain or not.
Vote yes for care, again it isn't care for both the mother and unborn when asking for protection to be removed from one party.
People would vote yes to compassion and care if it was compassion and care we were voting on, but it isn't.
So Yes has lies up on poles.

    This whole thread stinks ,
the new account starts about posters on poles and then goes into a rabid vote yes or your a fascist rant.

reminds me a lot of the gay marriage vote

I would be in principal in favour of both gay marriage and repeal the 8 but the manner in which the yes campaigners conduct the selfs would lead me to vote no or not at all ,

there is no intelligent discussion , no facts no dissent allowed and if you dare to raise a question you must be a religious nut a fascist or whatever

as for the posters i think they should not be used at all as they are always left lying around after inspite the fact that they are ment to be taken down asap after the event

There's a thread (below) currently running on Mumsnet and it is frighteningly aggressive and hostile. It reminds me of the marriage referendum where, no matter what reason people gave for voting no, they were just name called and insulted.

I've put in bold the problem with your post altogether.

You believing it is a lie, does not make it so.

What about all these other lies you were insinuating?

Request for fundraising from a teenage girl
    Putting propaganda inside toymaster catalogues

    Truly despicable

Hard to take the claim that they are protecting children seriously...

Not deflection at all, I corrected you. Just because you believe it to be a lie, does not make it a lie. Are you going to look at Ave's post of recorded lies by the pro-life crowd or are you going to totally deflect as usual?

That’s a lie. You’re not being asked to vote on the life of the unborn in this referendum. Nobody is going to force abortions on anyone nor are they going to deny the right to life if a woman chooses to continue with her pregnancy.

You’re being asked to remove a constitutional restriction on abortion. There’s been two tragic stories written in the other thread on the 8th detailing how this restriction on abortion condemns women who are physically unable to endure a pregnancy, through illness or the effects of medication that they need to take. These women, should they accidentally become pregnant, are literally unable to seek medical attention here unless they get to the point where they are hours from death. How can you support that? Can you not imagine how much worry they and their families feel?

I see the only discussing whether or not it's illegal /immoral to tear down posters is going well :D

MOD: And on that note, we'll leave it there. It was a wonderful discussion, I especially liked the bit about aliens and 2nd division Italian footballers!
