Haven't a clue Colly , was the heater too powerful for whatever adaptor you were using ?

See , am not helpful at all...

You could be right, Mam, not sure about the power, but I had the heater on for almost a hour, then, 'Bang' the adapter had melted into the socket.

Ok , I know nothing about adaptors tbh , but is it a travel adaptor that would have been fine with electrical items of a lower voltage than your heater ?

    Help Someone !!

You know more than me, Mam, thank you, low voltage could be the problem, I never thought of that, It is a travel adapter, makes sense, I used it with the wrong appliance...10 000 Thanks to you.. :)

Yea I think mam is smarter than she let's on, a travel adapter is for low voltage, phones, cameras and some hairdryers. I think you can buy smart adapters now. Tbh lucky you didn't burn the house down :D

Powers of deduction , something had to be the stronger force , and alas it was time for the adaptors demise....

And Deco is right Colly , you're lucky , stay safe !!
