The metoo crowd drove some poor devil to suicide in Sweden.

They accused the poor man of all sorts of stuff and most of the allegations were found to be baseless.

No point in apologising to him now because he is six foot under.

The mob are being whipped to hysteria by talk of battered brutalised bloodstained victim.

If they were capable of reading they would read the fact based forensic reports.

The mob got ten minutes of I believe her crap from twitter and they howled about the jury getting everything wrong.

Dara Florence will be in their sights after they get every member of the whatsapp group barred from ever playing rugby again.

The 'I respect the verdict but...' brigade need to take a long hard look at what they are doing.
Sensational commentary like 'they left her bloodied and hysterical' is downright dangerous stuff.

Media haven't covered themselves in glory. IT finally put up a reasoned piece from head of law at UL about "hasgtag justice" after days of virtue signalling from their columnists.

The hysterical bit is Harrisons fault, he exaggerated the crying.

He wasnt that bothered though because he didnt even tell Jackson about it.

Jackson had no idea what was about to happen, he actually went out the following night and had another threesome with Mc Ilroy and McIlroy whatsapped about it.

That was their last peaceful nights sleep.

I dont know how they or their families stuck the twenty months waiting for the trial and now its over and they have been acquitted they still cant have peace.

I played rugby years ago (not quiet at VIP in nightclubs level), but there was never a shortage of girls. If you wanted, they were there. Particularly for away games.
(Failed to exploit the situation as a girlfriend established herself).

Go to any Heineken cup/interpro/pro12, theres a coterie of "rugger huggers" flocking around players.

Its evident too in rural areas with the GAA, lets not cod ourselves

I remember a local fella in our local GAA team (trying to be very vague, because...reasons) who was in his mid 30s, or later.

Managed to knock up a girl who was straight out of her LC. Not the only story of his kind. But that was consenting adults, leading to a kid. Don't think there was a relationship.

But yeah, there's always been hangers on-even if it's a band.

I think the media has been very mixed tbh. Some were balanced, some weren't careful-and some were AOR and LON.

The Prime Time programme the night the verdict was announced was a disgrace.
The panel behaved like some on here and completely and stridently undermined the verdict from the get go.

I don't use Twitter and if the last 2 weeks is anything to go by I wouldn't ever use. As for Aodhan he should have thought before he tweeted about the case after the verdict was known. Could prove to be a very expensive experience for the Senator.

she also told police her jeans were 'covered in blood', they were examined in court, zero blood.

I watched it that night. Yeah, they were pretty bad. They didn't use the correct wordage, they refferred to parts of the testimony as 'lies'-which I don't think you'd have used in any other case. And for a rape case, where tensions were heated...that was just foolish.

It was rushed as hell. Tv3 made a better hand of it from what I've heard.

It was unreal, they discussed the case as if a guilty verdict had been handed down.

You wouldnt mind but RTE had enough reporters at the trial in Belfast and they must have seen how weak the prosecution case was.
They would have heard the judges summing up so they should have known it was very likely none of the men would be found guilty.

I suppose though the media got Trumps election and Brexit wrong too.

They still havent recovered from Trumps victory and he hasnt made a total mess of the Presidency so far though none of the media give him credit for anything.

They will be blaming him for the verdict in the Belfast trial too before very long.

He's back to tweeting about teachers pay, he's a teacher as i recall !
Using his taxpayer funded senator job to lobby for a payrise for himself.

It seems every coloured haired person can't get over it-it's almost 2 yrs later...and it's like 'come on!'.

Like-it's as if they forgot about Dubya, and his two wars, and Hurricane Katrina...

Like, America's gone through far worse crap...and they try and make it look like Donnie is the worst thing ever. Bush denied evolution, and tried to get it banned from schools.

He might need that pay rise.

He was before the voters rejected him. Assume still is.

Wonder will he waive his teachers pension rights ?
Presume if that was linked to final salary any pay increase would benefit him financially.

The media here hate the Republican party, its been like that since Reagan. Amusingly every new one gets them even more riled up then the last. They're now looking back on Dubya as the golden age !!!!

Were they creating problems for themselves though? This threesomes malarkey and bragging about it in WhatsApp conversations may have rapidly increased the chances of it blowing up in their faces at some point.

The complainant had already informed Harrison that day that she was of the opinion that she had been raped by his friends. How he didn't think this was worth relaying on to them is a bit mind boggling.

Not really he said he thought she was upset because Jacko had rejected her. He also said PJ was the last person in the world that would rape someone.

There's no great conspiracy here i'm afraid. They believed it was consensual and acted accordingly post incident.

be dead easy if either :

    - you're a VIP of some sort

    or

    - you're a good looking young man and the VIP section is filled with (single) female VIP's* or **gay male VIPs

Beyond either one of those....I dunno, how's about you head down to some nightclub in Dublin this weekend (where has a VIP section?) and report to us afterwards. I'm guessing though unless you're willing to spend large amounts of cash your chances aren't great.

*Allegedly that's how Dolph Lundgren was discovered by Grace Jones, she spotted him at an afterparty and asked : and what's this? Desert?

Some people on here talking about PJ and SO like they are Brad Pitt.

How famous are rugby stars exactly.

I never heard of PJ or SO before this trial.

I'm not interesting in attacking the woman or examining her motives i'm simply stating what was stated at the trial by the 4 innocent men.

They believed it was consensual and their actions post incident support this. Clearly you dont believe this however it appears the jury did.

Jackson would be well known. He was 2nd choice in the most pivotal position on the national side. At that time the 1st choice was injured a lot and Jackson was establishing himself as an adequate alternative.

I suspect you know exactly who is, certainly a lot of the women hanging around that night did.

I am not into rugby. Unless you're into the sport, how would you know him

I couldn't tell you who plays for Ireland football team either
    Zero interest.

Our complainant knew him. Was kinda upset however that he didn't know her.
