Aside from who is going to replace them, I wonder are Miller and Irwin leaving Nova altogether. There's no mention of any changes regarding the other weekday slots, so where would they put them if they're sticking around?

Maybe one of them (prob Conor) will be on 9pm on Saturdays. If Ruth gets breakfast, maybe Marty will take over her weekend show?

If Ruth scott takes over MG I'm out. I find myself switching off weekend afternoons. Can't listen to her inane ramblings.

There isn't a day that goes by on my commute to work that I don't think the same.

Seems to be the main requirement on Nova...otherwise you'll get stuck with a graveyard shift....

It's rock Jim ,but not as we know it....;)

What happens in scenario where you are saleried at x amount to present a show 5 days a week and then you are shifted over to a 2-3 hour slot one day a week? Pay cut?

I think Liam Quigley is a good choice. He has a voice and manner that's suitable for morning radio. The question is, will he remain there permanently or is he simply providing caretaker duties?

While I didn't like the show at all and tuned out because it drove me bananas listening to their tripe, and given that Nova has done this in the past, I still do hope that this isn't the case here.

I wonder if Liam is just covering for the rest of Mid Term?

Nice relaxing listen this morning on the 20-30 minutes that I hear dropping my son off. Soothing voice, music... no fake "banter" and stories about their kids.

Think it's just because of the holidays.

I usually enjoy the lads in the morning, I know I'm in the minority :pac:

But, I must say with it mostly being just music, I thought it was better. There were a few songs being played one after the other without talking in between

Maybe a rebranding is on the way, like say..Nova 2..because its not the original, a sure maybe stick FM on the end to distinguish it from AM...

    :P

Hayes doing a "thank you all so much" piece, then they played their live concert recording in full after 7pm last night.

Dunno, about Liam Quigley. Anytime he is one he annoys me within minutes. One Saturday he told a caller ‘You’ve won the prize! Only kidding, you’re not called 10.’ Not even remotely funny. Any other time he is one, this morning included he was giving out about the Government. Play some music, I don’t care what a DJ thinks about anything topical.
If Nova could clone John Clarke, they'd be on to a winner.

Liam Quigley has a wide and varied radio career. He started with Cork pirates in the '80s and then did a few months with Dublin's superpirate Energy 103. Then it was over to the U.K. for a number of stations, including among others Virgin Radio, Radio Nova International and Viking.

Liam was part of the original lineup of Century Radio (Ireland's first independent national station) in 1989. He left it in 1991 for 98FM - good timing! Apart from a two-year period with London's Heart FM, Liam was with 98FM until 2000. He was then part of the original schedule for Lite FM (since renamed Q102) and was the weekday breakfast presenter until 2002. In 2003, he joined 2FM and was the weekend breakfast presenter and left in 2005.

From 2003 to the present day, Liam Quigley has been supplying voice overs and his voice is often heard on radio and tv. After 2005, he did not do any regular presenting until he recently joined Radio Nova. Along the way, he did present a couple of pre-recorded programs for 4FM - I think it was just for one weekend.

I remember his first show on the licensed Nova, he was on after Peter Devlin's Saturday Setlist. I requested him a Nirvana song but he mistakenly played a Metallica one but then admitted he was only new and would do his best in future!

Here he is on Heart FM London back in March 1996!
