Any tracks they don't play too often? :-)
yep.... havent heard 'living on a prayer' in yonks.....
    ah, they're trying their best.
at least that lad doing the bits in between the ads wasnt on.
" ruth Scott is now on Radio Nova" yon fella
"i'd love to be steve downes" etc.
does anyone who works there actually listen to it, ??
actually theres an ad on it i find confusing, the one for AutoDoctor.
    it starts something like
"need quality car repair, stat ,use Auto doctor"
can anyone tell me what does the "stat"bit mean?
is yer man just reading exactly whats on the sheet, and it doesnt make sense?and he doesnt mention it to anyone and noone cops it?
    anyways,

    anyways,

A common medical abbreviation for urgent or rush. From the Latin word statum, meaning 'immediately.'

    ...stat......:D

No, none of the people that work there actually listen...:P

    Nova
    ˈnəʊvə/
    nounAstronomy
noun: nova; plural noun: novae; plural noun: novas

a star showing a sudden large increase in brightness and then slowly returning to its original state over a few months
    Describes the station perfectly.....:)

PJ was saying he was at the Elbow gig on saturday and attempted to play that Kindling track with John Grant...sadly didnt work out...Miller must have spilt some of his Ribena on the keyboard..:).....
Not an Elbow fan but would like to hear more JG on nova...thats another reason i miss TXFM...

I take it they fired the lady that used to do the morning show years ago... I liked her

Joan Lea? She's long gone. She was one of the original presenters of Morning Glory alongside Miller. From my own recollection, Lea went on annual leave some time in 2014 and never returned. She was replaced by Dee Woods shortly after. As far as I can gather, her sudden and prompt departure from the station remains a mystery to this day.

Mama Dee probably didn't want her around Darling Marty so she "disappeared" her :D

Seems to be a common thing - good DJs suddenly no longer there......Joan, Sinead, Davin. And all replaced with pop friendly people :(

Well he would usually only be on at 1am on Friday nights/Saturday mornings, so I have only heard him about once or twice. But, I did like what I heard. It is a real shame if he has indeed gone the way of Joan Lee or Sinead Ní Mhórdha.

It's certainly one of the more bizarre departure cases at Nova. I don't think Lea is even working in radio anymore. But I stand to be corrected on that one.

if those 2 on breakfast were to back slap each other any harder over this homeless thing they have going on they could cause a serious injury, youd swear they were the only people in the country doing anything to raise money for homelessness

Jim-Jim, Al Porter, Paddy Courtney... I do see a pattern there FF. But Colm is no stranger to "zoo" type radio and I wouldn't be surprised if he and Paddy get the breakfast slot someday, in fact I think weekdays do need a bit of a revamp. I would have had Ruth Scott as Dee's replacement on MG, but I think it is just cheaper to have her on Saturdays and Sundays, other than that I can't see why she wouldn't get the weekday show she deserves. Maybe put Pat Courtenay on mid mornings, swapping with Greg Gaughran with a "More Music Drive" format similar to that of Will Leahy on 2FM back in the day. I would also aim Nova at the 30-45 age group.

Hey Mikey..Done even joke about putting Courtenay on earlier, later if anything..GG is the only one i can bear during the day...just hope he never gets pregnant..:)

She isn't named explicitly in the news reports. I know her identity because I was a regular listener to that slot at that time, but I am not sure if saying her name is a good idea or not. Anyway she is a good broadcaster, and it is a shame it turned out this way for her.

She was suing them for unfair dismissal or something. Think when a courtcase is ongoing, they don't like stuff being discussed here......or something

I only asked who presented a show on Nova. I never metioned a court case, legal proceedings or WRC rulings and it wasn't in the context of other posts discussing that either.
