I requested a P21 Balancing Statement for 2013 a few days ago. I do this every year and I usually receive it very promptly.

This year there has been no sign of it and the request is in "My Requests History" but is not categorised as a pending request.

Also, when I clicked on 2013, for a while a message appeared saying "unfortunately we cannot process your request, please contact your tax office." This no longer appears (just the usual screen now)

I think I am entitled to a tax refund since I stopped working in October last year. I didn't apply for any medical expenses or anything like that. Is it usual to be waiting longer than the 2 days or should I call them?

Not usual to wait for more than 48 hours for the pdf of the P21 to show in your requests history. However, it's a busy week computing wise with the LPT. Maybe give it a few more days before following up.

Hi all, I'm a little confused here, I viewed and edited a 'P21 balancing statement' so it seemed last night on ROS, it just made me confirm that the numbers were right with my job, as in for example it said 'Deducted - €164 ' which looked right as that is what i was emergency taxed in December which ive been waiting to get back.

I submitted it and got an email this morning saying theyd be in contact shortly, is this all i need to do? do I just wait now? (my bank details are correct on my profile)

If managed properly it can often work out in your favour .
When our kids were school-going , we used to leave the home-carer tax credit off our tax credit cert , and always claimed at year end .
This gave us a nice cheque for €800 euro every February .

Many paye workers never bother to claim for medical expenses ,

Surprised at how efficient Revenue are with claiming the tax back, all my details were correct and €200 was lodged into my account 3 days after I'd completed the form

I am trying to fill out the Form 12 here online.

I left my old employment mid last year and I'm fairly sure I have to claim back tax from that. I also over-paid tax on when starting my new job late last year.

When I go to fill out the Form 12 online, there is no option to add my p60 and I was told that I need to fill this in. Where do I add it?

The details needed to fill in the Form 12 are found on your P60 e.g. total USC paid etc, rather than attaching a scan of the P60 itself or anything.

    thanks.

So do I work on the assumption that details are correct in my P60, even though it is only from the 2nd company I worked for. What about the 1st company?

Hmm not sure, I would have thought that every employer you had should supply you with a p60. I don't have mine to hand to check the terminology used. Do they refer to 'total usc paid for this year' or 'total usc paid in respect of this employment' ? Might clarify it for you.
