Within 48 hours to the online account so long as all is in order and you ticked the box to receive correspondence electronically.

Im having a slight problem with my p21 request on PAYE anytime, just wondering if any of you had the same...
When I select 'submit all changes' to process the request it doesn't ask me for any of my p60 details, just my a few digits from my pin and then it goes into my request history, apparently that's not right, I should have to fill in all my details for the year in question. I tried resubmitting them but same happened again. Just wondering if any of you had come across the same problem ?

You should get on to the Ros helpline about that. It dose'nt sound right.

That's what I was thinking, I just wanted to be sure before I made a fuss over something that wasn't actually a problem!

The same with me Classicciars, but to be honest I dont remember having to fill anything in on it in the past.

By this stage of the year, your employer should have filed their p35 which contains the same details as your p60. This is automatically matched to your pps and should show in your paye anytime account. The only reason you would have to manually input any pay and tax details is because your employer might have been slow at sending in their p35.

Hi all, great advice in here, much less stressful than ringing the tax office! I have one wee question I hope someone can help with...

I am (very belatedly) applying for my P21 for 2010-2013 (I know, laaaazy!). Does it make any difference if I apply for the 4 years together, or should I apply one by one, and wait til each is confirmed/paid and then do the next one? Are refunds themselves taxed or would a larger lump sum or series of payments arriving in one month affect a payout?

you can apply for them all togetther - they will be done individually

Easiest to do it online on payeanytime

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27 the summer me

great, I'm definitely going to apply on PAYE anytime tonight I'd say. I was just concerned that if I get refunds for all 4 years, and applied for them all together, would it be like getting a big bonus paid through salary - as you get such an influx all at once, it can fudge up your taxable income, put you into a higher bracket etc. But as this would be paid directly to bank acc and not through salary, that wouldnt happen here.

sent mine in last friday no word back. just log into rev.ie today and they want my bank details incase im due something back is this the norm...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 336 ✭✭wazzer1

Yeh thats the norm. I sent in for my 2013 one a few weeks back and still nothing, I sent in for 2012 a few days ago and got it back, so there must be a delay on last years....

tax refunds are not taxed, it is not taxable income so if you are entitled to a refund for any year you get the full amount provided you don't owe any tax for another year.

As I was typing that sentence, I got an 'ahhh, unagi...' moment and realised the difference! Have applied for all four years at the one time so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,828 ✭✭✭bullvine

Howya, might seem like a silly question but i am unable to see the option for Balancing Statement under Paye Anytime, I can see my credits and everything else. Do I need to register for it or something? thanks

You need to click into the year you want the P21 for and the option for it should be on the left hand side of the page.

Some requests are randomly checked. Others are targeted. If you requested it 5 weeks ago and it's not in your requests history, I would contact your local paye area to check what's going on.

It's normally 3 working days after P21 issues.

Thank you. Gave them a call and they were very helpful. Confirmed it had in fact been processed after a few days but was "stuck" in the system somehow.

Did you have to file Form 11 income tax returns for the years you are trying to view? A normal paye worker with no non paye income, should not be registered for ROS. If you had an active income tax registration in those years you won't be able to get P21 balancing statements. You would have instead received a notice of assessment which is the Income tax equivalent of a PAYE balancing statement.

Sorry, I am just a standard Paye worker. Basically, I was out of work for a month last year and am wondering am I entitled to some tax back. I thought that's what I needed from looking at the advice bureau. I didn't receive a notice of assessment or anything.

Ok, you may be using the wrong service then. ROS is for income tax registered individuals and companies. PAYE anytime is for normal paye individuals. The links below are for the login page to PAYE Anytime and it's signup page if you haven't signed up for it and received your pin.

I requested a P21 Balancing Statement for 2013 a few days ago. I do this every year and I usually receive it very promptly.

This year there has been no sign of it and the request is in "My Requests History" but is not categorised as a pending request.

Also, when I clicked on 2013, for a while a message appeared saying "unfortunately we cannot process your request, please contact your tax office." This no longer appears (just the usual screen now)

I think I am entitled to a tax refund since I stopped working in October last year. I didn't apply for any medical expenses or anything like that. Is it usual to be waiting longer than the 2 days or should I call them?

Not usual to wait for more than 48 hours for the pdf of the P21 to show in your requests history. However, it's a busy week computing wise with the LPT. Maybe give it a few more days before following up.

All sorted now! Statement was in the requests history this morning and the money was also in my account!! Great start to the weekend.

Hi all, I'm a little confused here, I viewed and edited a 'P21 balancing statement' so it seemed last night on ROS, it just made me confirm that the numbers were right with my job, as in for example it said 'Deducted - €164 ' which looked right as that is what i was emergency taxed in December which ive been waiting to get back.

I submitted it and got an email this morning saying theyd be in contact shortly, is this all i need to do? do I just wait now? (my bank details are correct on my profile)

If managed properly it can often work out in your favour .
When our kids were school-going , we used to leave the home-carer tax credit off our tax credit cert , and always claimed at year end .
This gave us a nice cheque for €800 euro every February .

Many paye workers never bother to claim for medical expenses ,

Surprised at how efficient Revenue are with claiming the tax back, all my details were correct and €200 was lodged into my account 3 days after I'd completed the form

I am trying to fill out the Form 12 here online.

I left my old employment mid last year and I'm fairly sure I have to claim back tax from that. I also over-paid tax on when starting my new job late last year.

When I go to fill out the Form 12 online, there is no option to add my p60 and I was told that I need to fill this in. Where do I add it?

The details needed to fill in the Form 12 are found on your P60 e.g. total USC paid etc, rather than attaching a scan of the P60 itself or anything.

    thanks.

So do I work on the assumption that details are correct in my P60, even though it is only from the 2nd company I worked for. What about the 1st company?

Hmm not sure, I would have thought that every employer you had should supply you with a p60. I don't have mine to hand to check the terminology used. Do they refer to 'total usc paid for this year' or 'total usc paid in respect of this employment' ? Might clarify it for you.
