Going back to this...I was trying out a few launchers at the time and was using Microsoft Launcher. It was pi$$ poor for that. Downloaded apps just vanished from time to time. Stock Launcher and Nova show them all, no problem.

Ordered from the German warehouse on GeekBuying on Monday afternoon and received my mi A1 today with UPS Express which was 10c more than standard delivery.

Great delivery service considering I've waited longer for items shipping from the UK!

Wow - great price.
The only thing I'd be worried about is the lack of insurance with AP..
If the phone didn't arrive, I could foresee a lot of hassle trying to get a refund..

I haven't used AP yet though..

OMG, our situation is the exact same. I had a Moto G3 and it was acting up and changed to Xiomi. I got the Red Mi 3 and it was the best decision I have ever made. one charge lasts me 3 days. Go for it! you won't regret your decision trust me! use honorbuy.eu as they always have great deals.

Compare the specs here.

If you prefer stock android Mi A1 is probably the way to go. Your use to MIUI or Know how to flash custom roms. I would choose the RN5 over both.

Also put in the upcoming RN5[WHYRED/China] in there, global version not announced yet.

I don't know how to flash the custom rom but I'm well familiar with miui at this stage. Am just wondering if the camera has improved in the A1 and x4.

Mine doesn't have the FM radio, this is one thing I miss from my previous phone when out for a walk.
