Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I bought a grey Xiaomi Redmi 4A with 2gb ram and 32gb storage from Honorbuy. Second phone I bought from Honorbuy. Again a great service with 3 day delivery from Italy.

Really happy with the phone after 3 days. Looks great in dark grey especially for this price range. 5 inch screen is fine, I don't have any issues with the display quality. Battery lasts about a day or day and a half. Really easy to set up and no issues at all with the Mi skin/software, I think it looks good and doesn't seem to be full of bloatware. Handy little feature is when you go to shut down open apps it tells you how much ram is free. I have approx 1gb free with all apps closed. I'm not finding any lag on apps so far.

Only annoying thing is that the navigation buttons are not backlit and with the tempered glass protector I also got from Honorbuy on its hard to see the symbols even during the day. But that's really not a big issue as I just turned on navigation vibrate so I know that I've pressed one of the buttons.

All and all a great little phone. Be perfect for a first phone, backup phone or for someone who's always losing or breaking their phone. Indeed I got it as a back up phone while I'm waiting to get the screen repaired on my Mi A1.

If anyone has any questions about this phone please post.

If you root it you can enable the on screen navigation buttons using terminal emulator. Much easier to use especially at night

My biggest gripe with Xiaomi is the on screen bezel around the edges. Ugly and quite visible in any colour but black hence why I have two black Xiaomis (Note 4 Prime and Mi A1).

Using an Elephone U Pro for the last month or so, an S9 in appearance and I'm really quite happy with it. Worth a look.

Ok, so I've been over on the S9/s9+, S8/S8+ threads, been checking out the mate 10pro also, been asking buddies what they have and chinese androids were mentioned the odd time ...

I know its a very open question, but what are the best options to start looking into?

I'm looking for a combo of the s9+ and the mate 10pro ...so good camera, big screen, good battery ... wireless charging?

    whats out there?

Anyone have experience of redmi note 4x v redmi 4x battery life and general use

Have the note 4x but thinking of going back to a 5" fone

They have the same battery so I presume they're comparable

    What is your budget?

Try putting your specs in here: - https://www.kimovil.com/en/

Could not think of chinese device that has wireless charging of hand, if that is a must?

What? When did it get released. Never heard a peep and was waiting on word.

How is the u pro? Looked to have fantastic spec on the initial site etc.

You could start by looking at some of the Vivo or Oppo phones.
The Vivo V7+/Vivo X20+ or the Oppo F5 for example.
Depending on where you look the results vary when comparing them.

It just came this morning so just setting it up, seems great so far and I like the fact that it has 128gb onboard.

It came with a silicone case in the box which is a nice touch, I have already ordered a case and screen protector from amazon which won't land for another 9 days, they are on a go slow.

Ordered on a Thursday and arrived on a bank holiday Monday.

Battery is decent, I noticed already that Bluetooth draind it a bit so I've been turning it off when I'm not using.

Today I took the phone off charge at 7 am and had Bluetooth on for my half hour drive to work listening to music. Turned off the Bluetooth when I got to work and light enough usage since then. Right now my battery is at 87%.

If you are a heavyish user like me you won't have more than 30% left after a 15 hour day and could have less. I'd guess a light user would get two days with no issue.

See that there is a sale coming up on the official Xiaomi store on AliExpress, might be worth a look.

Unfortunately the linked store for phones "Xiaomi Online Store" is NOT an offical xiaomi store.

This store use to label themselves as "Xiaomi Authorized Store". Would not trust them.

Also aliexpress is known to inflate prices to give the appearance of a sale/deal!

Edit: - Also no VAT Free shipping from that store, so any possible saving would be counter by the need to pay VAT!

Anyone here have the Xiaomi Mi6? Appreciate any comments on how you have found it. Looking at it for my next phone. I see they have got rid of green/blue/red notification light. Disappointing
I have one since July or so and find it a very good phone for the price.
Camera excellent. And it looks and feels great.
    Would recommend it.

There is an issue however with the frequencies it is compatible with.

I think (but not an expert) that most of the carriers operate at 800Mhz or 1800Mhz or a combination of both. Mi6 only compatible with 1800Mhz so you would need to check that with your carrier.

It looks stunning and great specs, im buying one next week. (Blue and Gold of Course)
I have spent 4 weeks investigating all new phones but Xiaomi MI6 is for me
Just wondering if you did go for the Xiaomi Mi6 after all.

If so, do you find any issues with band compatibility?

The store would be safe enough (they have over 15,000 orders of the Redmi Note 4 Global version alone).
The Sale price might only be for 5 sales of each phone or a very small amount.
But for example the Redmi 5 Global 3GB/32GB will be on sale for $174.99, and the lowest that it has been in that store so far, is $218.74 (current price for Gold model).

Redmi 5 Plus 3GB/32GB lowest has been $145.56 and sale price will be $136.99
Redmi Note 5A Prime will be $112.99 lowest has been $116.98 (and averages less than $120)

So not always going to save a lot, but there is savings within that store. The original reason sites like Aliexpress started raising the price before a Sale was because they did not initially have sales (on Alibaba). The prices used to be so low they did not need them (and individuals were not their target market). Then demand grew as did the amount of new stores. Students started selling items through it by the bucketload and they asked for higher prices (and got them). Now the prices for many items are the same you would pay here without the wait (Sometimes items are cheaper here).
To get a larger audience they had sales. Now they have something like 11 sales a year.
Gap has two a week... :pac:

My Oukitel U13 has started to fail. The screen/digitizer stops working intermittently - works fine, then the screen no longer responds to anything sometimes a screen lock and reopen sorts it other times it could be a few hours. Quite annoying.

Anyway I will be ordering a new phone within the next week or so but am conflicted - I was hoping to get the Redmi Note 5 Pro having seen the specs etc but their doesn't seem to be a global version (B20~) available yet (nor coming anytime soon ?) So I am looking at possible other Xiaomi phones - maybe the Redmi 5 plus. Has anybody gotten this yet? How do you find it?

No - it looks like they no longer have either Global/International version available.
Gold looks to be in stock here but not black.

Could be a firwmare update? I had that issue on a Lenovo Tab 4 and it happened on a Sony phone from about 6 years ago belonging to a relative. Was able to update the Sony within a day or so. The Lenovo had to be reset and flashed to an older stock. Then updated to the latest firmware which skipped the firmware that caused the issue.

Redmi Note 5 limited orders on a certain store sale.

    @amby666 @Suckit

The Redmi Note 5 [Global] pre-sale from the store mentioned before, didn't last the hour, (this morning), so limited orders on it.

It is also available pre-order from Mi Global Store for a similar price with VAT free shipping.

^^^^ Pre-order at your own risk, does not list full specs or Bands supported.

Yeah there hasn't been firmware updates - I flashed a different ROM as soon as I got it, but it was fine till recently. I might wipe and flash again and try.

It was only a temporary phone anyway, so if I get something it'll be handy to keep as a spare.
