It's not really impressing me sofar though I know it's early days.
The wind is off shore so the south coast in general will avoid the streamers
Tomorrow looks better for places like Cork

Of course I don't mind being surprised by a blizzard overnight lol

IOM shadow off up around Down/Louth for now. Think you're safe in Artane for now. :D

There is a gap in precipitation to my northwest extending northeast to the IOM.

Any reports from Dublin city centre? There seems to be very heavy snow there at the moment according to Netweather radar.

Edit: sorry, you are correct, I thought the wind was coming from the northeast at the moment, turns out it's closer to a straight easterly than northeasterly.

Any link to websites showing those streamers?

I want to know if I’ll be affected by the IOM shadow. A few years ago lots of you used to recommend raintoday.co.uk

However that seems to be subscription only nowadays.

'bean bag pellets' up behind Dun Laoghaire, towards Mullins Hill. A bit of bounce to them. Settling on the road and coming down with some haste now.

Only active these past ten minutes or so.

Missing D14 where I am too. Haven't seen anything since the occasional light flurries early today.

graupel, now that's a word. Perfect. Bean bag pellets = graupel.
Graupel, also called soft hail or snow pellets, is precipitation that forms when supercooled water droplets are collected and freeze on falling snowflakes, forming 2–5 mm balls of rime. The term graupel comes from the German language.

This annoys me. I’m living in east Meath (near Drogheda)but I reckon Louth forecast is more relevant for us. Also north Dublin is only up the road yet we prob won’t get any decent snow like the last time!. It’s like we are just in that Isle of Man shadow thing where all snow for our area has already been used!

Is the wind different to 2 weeks ago. I was hoping to streamers south of Wexford/Waterford would hit Cork again? Are they going to stay offshore

The snow shower at the moment reminds me of the last beast - horizontal snow.

Yes the last time it was more southeast meaning the showers were blown in off the coast. If you look at the radar it's more Northeast this time meaning the streamers are staying off shore.
Having said that the radar is picking up to our Northeast so we do have our chances

Stopped again... I'm not going to bed if I don't see anything more than a 2 minute shower ;)

Snowing very heavily now in Waterford City. (East side). Big fat flakes. It looks very similar to what came with the last event. Lots of drifts tomorrow I'd say.
