Time to burn my profits for the week - bets so far:
    14.10 Smaoineamh Alainn e/w
14.50 Poetic Rhythm e/w, Enniscoffey Oscar win
    15.30 Road to Respect e/w
    16.10 Wonderful Charm win
16.50 Melrose Boy e/w, Flawless Escape win
Some small stakes long odds double/trebles combos with Apples Shakira, Santini, Foxrock, North Hill Harvey, Killultagh Vic and Native River.
Got a day off work as well to sit and enjoy the racing.

Our Duke is a hilarious price.

It's the worst Gold Cup I can remember but I still give him no chance.

His jumping surely won’t hold up. You can’t make mistakes like he does and win a Gold Cup, I’d be surprised if he gets round.

    Will probably win now. :pac:

2 winners yesterday thanks to Elliott :)

    Apple's Shakira
    Santini
    Road to Respect
    North Hill Harvey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,578 ✭✭✭2ndcoming

Might Bite and Road To Respect mental prices, ye can have a serious cut on both e/w.

Apples Shakira hammered but hard to see it beat.

Big handicaps stick a pin in the board. Ideally one with Gordon Elliott or Davey Russell's face on it. Honestly though think the English will save some face tomorrow.

    Happy punting lads and ladettes.

The random chap that won the 'Pick7' today, has just uploaded his selections for Friday, couple of 20/1 in among them.

    e.g. Minella & Gino double is @400.

Assuming it wasn't just lucky picking on Thursday (it may well have been).

Would be tempted to run a (min stake) tin of 'Super Heinz' for seven (ew), just the laugh.
That would probably total about 2m or so.

Just building a super heinz now, before linking to check the odds. T-10.

Slight correction it wasn't pick7 it was lucky7 with that other outfit.
fella is called: James Hays, anyone know him? lol

Other note, using an Alt for 13:30 using W/O as a risk eliminator/place enhancer (he went with AS, too short).

Edit: odds are <439,000/1 using a replacement for the 13:30 (439k rtn, when compiled from the x240 beans via the bare min allowed).

Slight complication, ok so this was the only fella that managed 6/7 wins on Hills
    https://lucky7.williamhill.com/your-selections?id=115038_ZK

But over on the SKy, two folks managed the same 6/7,
another three managed an even more impressive 6wins + the 7th placing.
...but their link unavailable as still being verified.

Best plan would be wait for their additional data to be presented, then compile the Heinz based on any correlation between the six of them.
Reckon about 100,000 folks would enter these free competitions, well because they're free.

    All to be placed

    Apples Shakira 3 places
    Santini 2 places
    Definitely red 3 places
    Burning ambition 3 places
    Flawless escape 4 places
    Don’t touch it 4 places

    €1 pays €12,512.50

    Say a prayer

After reading Hendersons blog post today I won't be backing Might Bite, sounds very concerned about the ground. As someone said in the other thread front runners aren't doing too well tho we did finally get a horse to make all and win in the last yesterday.

He sounds most confident in Chef Des Obeaux in the Albert Bartlett. Annoyingly he has the top 2 in the market with him and Santini. I'll be skipping some of the other races tho so don't mind backing them both at around 5/1.

Native River front runs but he is the one horse you know will love the ground and get the trip too. it's such an open race and I love Might Bite but just think it's gonna be Un De Sceaux all over again if he tries to make all.

i know NR will give me a run for me money and with Definitely Red and Edwulf being proven on heavy they're definitely worth e/w bets at big prices. I don't fancy Our Duke at all, honestly just think he's popular bc Jessie won it last year and he won the Irish Grand National. he's priced shorter than he should be imo.

Only had 1 bet this meeting due to work. €10 patent on Presenting Percy, Apples shekira and might bite. Didn't take prices and Apple is to 13/8 from 5/2 which will reduce the pot if it doesn't drift. Waiting to read all opinions on might bite as thinking of cashing out if Apple wins and the offer is fairly decent. Then again i have a feeling might bite may well drift due to the Irish factor and may get a good 5 or 6-1.

Good luck with all your bets

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,855 ✭✭✭Panrich

A wide open Gold Cup today where we might easily have another Lord Windermere type result. Native River looks like he’ll cope best with conditions of the favorites but is 0-4 at the course so I’m going for Definitely Red EW.

Also throwing a few darts for small money at:

    13:30 Stormy Ireland
    14:10 Meri Devie
    14:50 Chris’s Dream
    16:10 Wonderful Charm
    16:50 Discorama
    17:30 Top Gamble

    Good luck to all

  • Registered Users Posts: 124 ✭✭deiseman17

I give Smaoineamh álainn a very good ew shout at 14/1 he's been backed in from at least 20s. For the gold Cup I'll have a small bet on Edwulf at 16/1,i think this will be an open race with the ground and trip suiting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 223 ✭✭dave81

I've bounced a load of doubles off variations of stormy Ireland, apples shakira clan and santini. I'm sweet on stormy and will back in singles. Think clan wins Albert, very sweet on him. I'll back in a single too. Good luck.

Threw another few quid on Sadlier this morning. I really liked the debut run. It was against nothing of note but the French flat form plays in well.

Deal D'estruval is another I backed this morning.

Duca de Thiux, Foxrock, and defiantly red.

Still have being backing Kiltuagh Vic every week since for the last 6 weeks or so for the gold cup. Getting worried slightly about him now

was thinking of lumping on Apples Shakira/Santini Double @ 8/1,
seeing a lot of support here for Stormy Ireland though today.
    Apples is dodgy?

Waiting on the two in a treble and lucky 15 for big money but I have a bad feeling. The form of the 2 are excellent, especially Apples form at the ground but I know one will let me down

It's rare Nicholls will come away from Cheltenham without a winner. Thinking Le Prezien might just about be one of his best shots.

Apples Shakira looks far too short. Farclas has a similar profile to that of Tiger Roll when he won this race so he'd be my selection at 8s.

Gutted. Have had a small ew on Road to Respect.

Yeah me too. Wasn't nrnb either for me either.

I'll stick with the same team and go with Edwulf

Again, continuing with my previous strategy, Nicholls horses plus a SH plus some each way or in the without market.

    Nicholls bets, all each way.
    2.10 Divin Bere
    3.30 Saphir du Rheu
    4.10 Wonderful Charm
    4.50 Brelan Das

    1.30 Apples
    2.10 Sandsend
    2.50 Santini
    3.30 Might Bite
    4.10 Wonderful Charm
    4.50 Flawless Escape
    5.30 Vaniteux

Other - undecided on how to back these, but these are my picks anyway
    1.30 Redicean and Sussex Ranger
    2.10 flying tiger and spiritofthegames
    2.50 Mr Whipped
    3.30 definitely red
4.10 young hurricane, virak and shotavodka
4.50 Tommy Rapper and Brave Eagle
5.30 Le Prezien and Garde le Victoire

Will hopefully back all of the 'other ' picks ew today, have had some good luck in this section this week on longer odds, as per other threads.

    Good luck all.

I can barely type. Still full of Scotch. Not writing up I'll just give my fancies.

Farclas. Have to take the favourite on!

Brelade each way. Didn't really get home last year but I'll give him another chance.

Santini. Big ap fancy of mine.

Might Bite. Have him ap but not one bit happy with it. Ground concerns.
Outlander also backed ap at 50s ew so hoping he can sneak a place. But I think Kilultagh Vic wins.

    The Foxhunters can **** off!

Early Doors. On at 20s. Here's hoping.

Not sure about the last one yet. I'll wait until I get a few scoops in me and read the Racing Post!

    Good luck.

Really fancied Redicean in the first but he's gone for a bit of a walk in the market this morning which is really tempering my enthusiasm. Wouldn't have thought the ground would be more of an issue for him than anyone else so might just be bad vibes from the stable?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭NinetyTwoTeam

Nicholls has basically said the ground is hurting the chances of every runner on his blog, bar Dolos.

Sounded very positive about Pacha, Saphir and Virak tho and that he would have had a lot of confidence in Wonderful Charm but the rain really hurts his chance.

overall he seems to feel his ones in the 4.10 and 5.30 are his best chances.

    Stuck these in the Jackpot
    1 farclas and apples
    2 Meri Devi/whiskey/Meri Devi
