If you're friendly it would be good to ask her to correlate a few orders with arrivals.

My suspicion (@Mods: No proof) was the DMC was warehousing it for a few weeks/months before pushing it on. If your colleague sees better times then it would point to Delivery Units holding them - but under a policy for it to be so ubiquitous.

So I asked her about it, she admits she hasn't paid much attention to how long it takes things to come in but doesn't think she's waited as long for anything as I've been waiting. I guess I'll try ordering stuff into work instead of home and see if they come any quicker that way.

It takes too much time.I will choose the DHL in my next order

I ordered 5 items on aliexpress on 31/1/2018. The biggest delivery was handled by DHL and it was a big item so I forgot about customs. I paid the customs fee because I realised my mistake. I wasn't home that date of delivery so it was delivered another day and I received it ten days after delivery.

The other deliveries are being handled by 17track and I still have not received them. They aren't big so no extra custom fees. The seller isn't responsible. One delivery has been in the local distribution center for the last month. The rest are still on the way. There has been no indication that they were being delivered by anpost and nothing turns up when I put the tracking code into anpost. Two of the sellers said to check the local post office. I would basically be told to get lost seeing as it isn't delivered by anpost and I've no idea what distribution center 17track are using.
The only thing I can seem to do is to keep asking the sellers to keep extending the purchase protection. It's mad.like.

I have multiple tracking numbers which show the stuff gets to Ireland in about a week but after that disappears down the rabbit hole. Unreal. The worst one at the moment is something I ordered on Jan 28, got dispatched Jan 29 and arrived in Ireland on Feb 6. 4 bleeding weeks sitting in some An Post depot. Scandalous.

Also I have two brothers who have either worked as postmen or in An Post sorting offices and some of the things they say goes on would cause a revolt.

But hey it's Ireland and shure we can all get drunk again over the weekend for Paddy's Day.

From China, I have some items that i am still waiting on since December.
I have a lot of items that i am waiting on from January, and i have a few from February.
I have items from Germany that arrived in Ireland at the end of February and have had no movement since.
Channel Islands (under customs value) and USA since February.
UK over a week ago, and Ireland since exactly a week ago.
I also posted a package to Germany that went missing and have received three letters telling me that they are investigating it.

I received one small packet today from China today that left the Warehouse on 23rd of January, departed Country of Origin on 1st of February and again on 4th of Feb and then no sign of it until it reappeared yesterday 12th March with An Post, and was delivered today.

It is very annoying to be waiting for them. Some of the items are needed for work.

Is there not anybody or anything in Ireland that can be contacted about this scandalous carry on...is there a consumer affairs or something similar?

The more they are getting away with this the worse it seems to be getting!.

Nobody has, because 17track is only tracking service, they've absolutely no relationship with any of thousands carriers you're able to see there. :)

I am waiting on five small items, apparently landed in Ireland on 18 Feb, but no sign of them. I called AnPost, , no help at all.

I'd love a Prime Time Investigates on AP.

I have had stuff from China take almost two months, I'd no way of tracking it so not sure where the delay was.
I also had some stuff from Russia take about 6 weeks. I could track that purchase and 3.5 of those weeks were after it landed in Ireland...

I sort of got that but other than the indication the the seller was using 17track, I couldn't find what carrier they were his in comparison to the auick delivery from using dhl. It's just a pain really as lots of customers end up in the dark due to unknown issues.

I’ve noticed now, that the sellers are giving up to three months for estimated arrival dates.

IRELAND, the transfer of customs-- 18-Feb-2018 05:43 PM

Have been waiting what seems like an eternity, just checked there, I placed four orders, and they all say as above.
How do I get my packages, does this mean they are stuck? Ordered the 4 Feb!
+3hrs 40 min to go from arrived to transfer of customs.

Now check the interval (between 'arrived' and 'transfer of customs') on two totally unrelated parcels:
    ZByMc9s.jpg

Also 3hrs 40 min. It's fake tracking. They just make up where the item is based on fixed intervals.

    Batch processing.....

Batch processing would cause two items in same shipment batch to have identical tracking. Not three items months or years apart. (in reality not three, I can post dozens). Shipping is not clockwork.

Your item is not where the tracking says it is, therefore it's fake tracking by any definition of the word.

    Hi all,

I've emailed Primetime. Asking them to do test purchases and expose An Post. Whether they do or don't is another matter.

I'm waiting on a medical device from Russia that arrived into Ireland on the 23rd february. And I'm getting pretty f**king sick of chasing it. Yes, yes, I've seen your collective woes. Hopefully Primetime will look into it. Or pass it to another branch.

ps I emailed customs and they responded to me within a half hour ! At lunchtime. Its some f**king management waster in An Post who has either presided over chaos or implemented swingeing cuts and to hell with service levels.

Nothing again today. I am expecting the Dam to burst and have to answer the door one of these mornings to a whole load of stuff.
I counted the items that i am waiting on. 28 in total.

I was talking to somebody yesterday and has a couple of friends who work in An Post. He reckons there is a backlog since the snow..
If that is what they are saying then there were a couple of backlogs hitting that backlog.

Ah OK. It's getting pretty irritating at this stage

So where does one contact AnPost for such a delay?? I've been waiting on a package from the UK, dispatched on the 20th February and still no sign of it. Book Depository advised me to turn up at a local sorting office and give my details which sounds ridiculous to me. I don't think there's a facility for that, right? No tracking codes to speak of obviously as BD is free shipping and uses standard post. Is there any recourse on this or give it a few more months wait (which is pretty insane for a package from the UK)?

I'm sure alot of the AliExpress boys have offered refunds to their customers already over this. An Post are essentially stealing at this stage by their refusal to deliver. I am routing all Deliveries via the UK at a cost of €3.75 with AddressPal and €3.95 with Parcel Motel each time. Quite often the item is only like $2-$3 and An Posts refusal to deliver is effectively doubling the cost for me due to having to deliver stuff to the UK instead.

There is a big difference between stealing and slowing down the deliveries. They have admitted that parcels coming in are being held for up to 4 weeks. They probably realise that no-one is going to go to bat for Chinese imports that are bringing little or no VAT into the Irish economy, and think they can do what they like. TBH, I'd prefer AP do that than put up the price of stamps every couple of months. However, An Post, with typical Irish efficiency in screwing everybody, generally do both.

A few of my items are not coming from China and are still not here. While I do think that they are putting the Chinese parcels to the bottom of the list (unless it was a paid service) they are not the only items that are being delayed. They did expect it.

An Post should do something like this, at least they would be able to make some money from the deliveries. Unlikely they would become an Aliexpress partner, but like Sweden and Italy it would make them a service that some sellers will use.
Swiss post went from being the service to avoid, to being a highly used international service (when buying from Asia) (although i think they are in a bit of trouble at the moment). Singapore Post even offers their services from Hong Kong to Europe.

I went to the Post Office today to collect an AddressPal item.and had a big whinge to the guy behind the counter.

Apparently there have been over 3000 redundancies, and some of the new postmen " don't know the houses" but if I think the postman is nicking my post, to talk to the Deliveries Officer.

They will send me PHANTOM POST !!! to see if it arrives!!! :D:D hahahaha

Actually it is not just my China post not arriving, other packets from UK and Ireland too.

I am getting increasingly pi*sed off.

Every other postal service in Europe and North America deliver all Post efficiently and without cute hoorism or whinging....but of course An Post being an Irish company is such a tender delicate little snowflake and doesn't get 'paid enough' for it's " best in the world" efforts aah boo hoo hooo...it's so unfair..boo hoo.

To think that they can just ignore mail from the far East...(the manufacturing hub of the planet) and make it go away for ever...is just plain phucking off the scale thickness and stupidity!!.
