    Lashing snow in north wex
Very deep now, hard to walk in
    Drifts are incredibly deep
Snow is 6ft and my back patio doors
I expect it to be completely covered by morning
I've never seen anything like this

Snow accumulating a wee bit again this evening here near Tralee, about 1cm settled since dark.

    -0.3C atm
    Dp -1.9C

Been so quite the last two days, little or no wind , barely any traffic and the snow absorbing the country sounds. Will be a memorable couple of days.

When is the snow expected to start melting?

Something must be wrong with Casement station. No reports for four hours now. Wonder if it's just an issue uploading data and whether it will be available later.

Windy and very fine dust like snow still in Clondalkin.

Blackglen Rd is closed so the higher up you go the worse it gets ..... I’ve over 50cm’s here 😱

So today in this part of D15 there was a definite thaw til about 3pm. But temps dropped and the light snow flakes have been relentless. About 6cm have fallen since on Flat surfaces. Drifts are up to the top of the front garden wall now. Hard to know how much fell the last three days.

Went for a stroll for a few hours along the canal and out the back roads by luttrellstown castle. The back roads are not cleared at all. Lethal.

Hard to believe its early march.

30/40 minute snow shower there around 10 in Limerick left enough of a dusting on the roads to slow traffic right down. Very different situation here to the rest of the country.

Hoping to head to Killarney tomorrow afternoon so hopefully some respite is on the way.

Is it? The radar is saying that it should be stopping completely from now.

Probably under attack from Jobstown lads.

    Still coming down in D24.

It's a very serious time for a lot of people with the emergency services putting themselves at risk to protect people and essential service providers among other things helping the homeless, the injured or sick and to restore normal transport links, electricity etc. It has not been a simple situation to forecast or deal with but Met Eireann and the emergency group have been doing a good job. The mods of the weather forum here would have done a lot of work to keep this forum running as smoothly as possible and their efforts make it much easier to stay informed through the key contributers (incl mods themselves) on the various forecasts. Thank you. All.

There are important ongoing warnings and there is a big recovery effort going to be needed but I hope everybody got a chance to take in the beauty of the snow on the various landscapes, was able to chat to a neighbour and even offer help to a neighbour that might need it.

Most likely just an internet issue. It has happened before with Casement reports and the data was available later. Somebody reported virgin media tv/internet was down in west Dublin earlier, so probably related to that.

I have to head to the airport in the morning for approx 7:30 am, does anyone know if the M4/M50 should be passable at that time?

Can’t get over how deep the snow is in D13 right about now. So much for the thaw!

Intensity has really picked up in Greystones for the last 20 mins. Wind playing a big part with near blizzard conditions.

Visibility at Dublin airport now just 100m in moderate snow.
