Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got a half pounder in chipster and a bottle of Jameson in Madigans :D What more could you want? Going to get drunk and go play in the snow later

Thanks, went for a stroll on the hunt for some munchies, but they were cleared out. The Dunmore Rd looked like something out of an apocalypse very surreal with people trecking the snowy roads.

It's like The Walking Dead, little groups of slow moving people huddled together outside empty shops.

Whats rice bridge, the quays and road through new town out to the hospital like?
Drivable? Surely they ploughed that at least.
How about the outer ring road?

main roads have been ploughed, but i wouldnt be going out there in anything less than a jeep tonight, but in saying that, i seen a few cars making their way around the outer ring road. few stranded cars around the place.

Wasn't on them, but other major roads around the town have been cleared, but not fully, so I'd imagine they have been cleared

What’s the snow situation like in your area surrounding wate4ord city. Have to pass from Tramore through Waterford through new Ross to graignamanagh in kk late4 this morning. Will I get there, and is it worth getting there if everyone is in 4ft of snow?

if you come in the tramore road and stick to the ring roads as far as the hospital roads are cleared in as far as town anyway.

id imagine getting to graig would be problematic!!

The main road between Waterford and New Ross has been cleared but there's still a lot of snow build up in the hard shoulder so just take your time. Obviously keep your eyes open for abandoned vehicles on the road, they may not be fully pulled in off the road.

    How’s the Tramore Road looking?

was dodgy enough last night, was ploughed though, and traffic was passing through it relatively ok, even though there was a car abandoned on it, there was only one lane to. probably different story now

I would imagine trucks will start getting through the motorways so the shops could be stocked back up tomorrow, if the drivers are allowed work

Fair play to all the services that have worked hard to get the city and county up and running after the snow. Lot of volunteers as well as local agencies whose work should not go un-noticed

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,619 ✭✭✭erica74

Roads are driveable and walkable but there's snow built up everywhere so you have to take your time as pedestrians are walking on the road. Ardkeen stores car park is full of snow, they're doing their best to clear it but it's slow. Lidl car park alongside Ardkeen Stores is a bit cleared and open and they're still working on it. Tesco is open until 6pm and car park is relatively clear but still a lot of work to do, they're working away.

Lots of cars still abandoned everywhere, lots of idiots stopping on the road (which is barely even one car width wide in some places) to let passengers out and pick people up, lots of pedestrians out walking. So everyone just be careful and courteous.

Some parts of those roadbumps (ones which are material/plastic and not tarmac) seemed to have ripped up when they were ploughing the snow. A few patches taken up around the Ursuline School, and left dumped near the traffic lights by the inner ring road. Think there was one by Norris's corner as well.
Hopefully can get them fixed soon, as there are some huge screws popping out of where they used to be.
Unfortunately, our roads will have taken another pummelling after the snow and ice.
