There's a thaw on here now. Water dripping off the roofs and big chunks of the yard clear of snow. Only a small bit of time to free the parlour this morning but I'll leave the cows out for water for an hour as all the water pipes are frozen atm. Having a bite to eat first though.

Milk went here yesterday evening so fine here till Monday have to say we’re not nearly as affected by the snow as others on here. roads 20 mins from here not passable whereas roads are clear around here

Miserable as hell here today. I'm still sick. Sinuses blocked, constantly coughing and dripping from the nose. If I was a bullock, I'd be put down.
Still tractor started no problem and tap in yard thawed enough to fill barrel, my temp water trough. Maybe 4 inches of snow and still at it.

All good here for storage. Neighbour will be full tomorrow though. I've a 2200l tank here if he wants to borrow it

A metre of snow in some of the yard and pens full of snow from blowing in any crack or crevice available. I went to get the tractor bucket to clear the feed passage of snow and I can't even see where it is, there is over a metre hiding it.

Water is frozen but the troughs I filled yesterday were only half empty so just going to leave them with that for today. Its starting to thaw in the shed so the animals are wet and miserable, feed passage was a slushy mess so had to fork up everything to make room for new bales. Bedded all the sheds again, can't keep them dry with all the snow blowing in. Calves are sensible enough to huddle together in the warmest parts.

Not to bad to be honest. Sore all over from carrying endless buckets of water and shovelling snow. Warm though since I've thermal gloves and 2 layers of everything.

I'm dreading the floods that are going to come from this. Ground is going to be saturated for a long time with no hope of getting animals out.

Current condition of only road left accessible as abandoned cars have all others blocked.

I ain't waiting for the professionals to get here as others have suggested.

Lots of locals trapped. Will start clearing tomorrow as they are all ok atm and I'm starting to ferry nurses to mullingar hospital all evening.

Snow just makes everything pure misery- water gone here on all the lines now except one up a hill so having fun hauling buckets of water down the hill for the house. Bobcat got stuck. Letting the cattle out in groups. Had to move a group of suck calves as the snow was going in through the slats over the sheeting on the gates and straight down on their heads.... Thank god we aren't milking and finished calving as don't think I could take it!!!
Please please tell me it's going to thaw tomorrow?

Now this is the point. Roads blocked by idiots who wouldn't listen to the authorities. Now if there is a medical emergency people are in trouble.

You ferry them in the bucket? Hse should take care of their staff and they have a lot them held up in hotels in town.

Lads messing and looking to be seen. Taking more pictures than doing good.

Drinkers should free out with a bit of help at todays temperatures. Got going yesterday after a night at -5 with about 5 gallons of hot water and kept moving from drinker to drinker.

Sometimes they just go clear an hour after you've given up. Good luck, it makes a savage difference.

Fed my lot hay and dry meal last night so that they'd keep the water moving :)
