Power gone wicklow town... have a back boiler and pump and just toppes up fire with extra coal amd wood...what do i do?

That area is particularly bad. Brother-in-law was sending videos of the snow up past his knees earlier. Hang in there.

Absoutely ferocious blizzard under way in Delgany now and has been building for for an hour. Continuous moderate to heavy snow and rapid build up. I HAVE A DRIFT:D:D:D:D:D

Mt was asking me the other day after commenting on a run did I still think was it Scottish research station tea and biscuits time

This now is looking more like helicopter blade freezing territory
Visibility very poor in this and it’s done all this in the space of a couple of hours with what 18 possibly 30 hrs to go
I’ll get me bread

It’s awesome looking at the drifts near the ditches spin up and pile up

One for the people complaining about the "unnecessary" warnings. This road was in perfect condition when Sky were live at around 6pm. Now if it wasn't for the crash barrier you wouldn't even know there was a 4 lane motorway there.

Streets of Dundalk deserted - took a drive into town in search of food (mizonis last ones standing, everything else shut), snow is falling moderate in strong wind, a BMW stuck in the snow... rear wheel drives and snow don't mix well:D

the heavy showers seem to be going west of the city/suburbs. So I am assuming we need to wait for the heaviest showers to move in from the west now. Looks like we may get something in about 30 minutes though.

never seen anything like this here in my life..sorry if I keep repeating it. Full on blizzard. Moderate intensity but looks much worse thanks to +45 kt gusts from the east. Looks like it will snow at at least this intensity for the rest of the night/morning

Definitely starting to accumulate in Walkinstown..put on a wash in the shed an hour ago and had to dig out the door to take it out..am tempted to stay up for a good while...;-)

Saw a chap trying to push his motorbike up Kimmage Road earlier. He had to turn back. Snow is still very fine but definitely heavier than it was and more visible.

Lights flickering 3 times in the last 10 minutes here in Drogheda, I'm just over the Meath border. I'm aware Laytown has power issues, I hope the lights aren't a sign of it spreading here.

The freezing rain is resulting a lot of power outages near coastal areas north of Dublin. 1000's without power at the moment. Over 4,500 off in the Swords area alone

Gone blizzard-like in Galway finally, car is covered again after I completely cleared it earlier. It's sticking to all the Windows too making it hard to see my lamppost.
