    i have a foot in my back garden in naas and yesterdays was well compacted from the kids playing. i measured 7.5 inches fresh yesterday noon. amd 4 more inches so far today

    I've been wondering how much actual snowfall we're getting today, as opposed to the wind lifting already fallen snow back up again and making it look like there's constant snowfall?     Swords is up the road - a few hotels there! If it is going to get as bad as they say, make sure you are confident of making it to Laois or somewhere where you can get shelter, also make sure you have sleeping bag, water, food, if you attempt it, stay safe!

    Last night I had 18cm. Didn't measure this morning but probably a bit less than 30cm.

    We only have 6-7cm of level snow here. No great increase since yesterday. Although there's been lots of small flakes falling/blowing around for the last few hours. It's currently -1.2/-4.2C. The low last night was -4.5C.

    Please don't. Checking it every 15-30mins is fine. Spamming F5 along with the rest of the country will prevent those who really need from accessing the site.

    Whatever about boards.ie, people need to be able to get onto met.ie

    Having trouble uploading a photo, but I've just measured 31 cm in Newbridge, drifts are starting to get to 2 to 3 feet. Still snowing non-stop very heavily, this storm is going to bury us.

    It's been snowing on and off in D7 for a good while now, but it seems to be getting heavier in the last 15 mins. The wind is picking up and making visibility deteriorate.

    Sub-zero temperatures and further heavy snow showers this afternoon.
    Blizzard like conditions will develop in the southeast and south this evening and extend northwards tonight. Southern and eastern coastal counties will be worst affected.
